  2. That depends on if they are held for market or breeding. Raised livestock do not have any basis whether held for breeding or market. LIvestock purchased for breeding are depreciated. Livestock purchased for resale are inventory. Sales of raised breeding stock go on part one of 4797 and are capital gains. Sale of purchased breeding stock go on part three of 4797 and subject to depr recap. Those two statements lead to the possibility of a hobby versus business. Proceed with caution!

  3. If you back up the entire Wolters Kluwer folder, you'll have a complete backup. A disk image is also a great option. ATX automatically backs up returns when you close them, and you can manually back up Settings, but to get everything including forms you've downloaded, you need to backup that Wolters Kluwer folder. I've heard it recommended that you end the ATX Server task before backing up or copying.

  4. Good luck with that. I have a client who just recently received his 2022 Federal tax refund. We played every card that we could, but they move at their own pace. Due to recent news, that pace may slow down considerably.

  5. I assume SPX was the backup solution preferred by the previous consultant. There is a backup and export function w/in ATX in the Return Manager under Returns.

  6. Exactly this. ^^ My earlier post lists the ATX files that you should tell Avast to ignore.

  7. You can exclude ATX files from being scrutinized by Avast then you won't have to turn Avast off.
