  1. Everyone check your messages.
  2. CCH is still rift with the disease of "not communicating between departments." I am dealing directly with the builders and techs of the program. I am waiting for the next call from my sales rep. I guarantee that my sales rep will not know that I was at the CAB, nor that I was a beta tester. I will do my purchase, if I decide to stay with ATX, from the top, not the sales department.
  3. Others of us put much more effort, time and communication with the people at ATX. Despite the opinions of some on this board, the CAB meeting was very productive. I have promised to give you information when I have finished all my advanced testing. You do not know all that is being done behind the scenes.
  4. I sent another about the reject.
  5. Did you get my latest message?
  6. Nothing in the test would give any indication of a person's ability to use the reference materials. The truth is, without the ability to look up most of the answers, the test would have been deemed "discriminatory." I did not look up any questions. After studying and taking E.A. exams, this was a breeze. Anyone who had been preparing returns for 5 years or more should have been able to take the test and pass it as easily as I did.
  7. Did you take the test?
  8. The test, as a means of weeding out incompetent perparers, was a total JOKE. I have taken the tests to become an E.A. and if the E.A. test is a High School Senior level exam, the RTRP test was kindergarten. They provided Pub 17 and the instruction to 1040. You had 4 hours to take 120 questions. You could have looked up 80% of the questions and passed. TOTAL JOKE! From the time I sat down at the computer till I was at Wendy's for lunch 2 miles down the road was 55 minutes.
  9. As did I. Just about $25 per letter I can put after my name now. No other benefit.
  10. I know a preparer with 30 years experience that had the same thing happen. No charges or even a list of complaints. Just froze the PTIN and his EFIN too. He attempted an appeal, then decided to retire. Never was any information about why they were pulled.
  11. I cannot like any more posts today. I agree 100%
  12. I saw your post as a statement of fact. Did I miss something? I only asked for the basis of your statement?
  13. For 2012 tax season, more than 20,000 returns were allowed to be filed by paid preparers using PTIN numbers that were not registered through the program with the IRS. I can see how it is working so far...
  14. So how does the program cause "fraudulent tax preparers" to be tracked more easily? Or does the program require that all preparers, including the one committing fraud to sign up and give all the information to the IRS? I am missing something here.....
  15. I would say from $0 to $65 is a significant increase. I have received NO BENEFIT from the new program from the IRS.
  16. The IRS has turned the PTIN into nothing more than a legal way to siphon money out of the pockets of honest tax preparers. Initially, it was simply a way for us to protect our SS#. Another fine example of the best our government agencies can do!!
  17. Tell me how you separate the two? Oops! will this get me another warning?
  18. Simple. Greed. No actions show the concern that the mother gets the proper care she needs.
  19. My caring for my parents had NOTHING AT ALL to do with money. It never entered the decision making process. Neither does/did the participation of my sibling.
  20. The simple answer: No. The date becomes April 15, 2016 to preserve the refund.
  21. Anything considered part of the structure is not eligible for 179. Carpet and furnishings are different.
  22. There is a big difference in being paid to take care of your mother and paying someone else when it is beyond your own capabilities. I did not face the long term care issue with my Dad, and Mom is still living on her own. I TOTALLY get where you are coming from.
