No way no how would I prepare for Intuit. Hooking my name to theirs compromises my professional integrity.

At 1600 clients, I don't know how you have been working without an organizer. Find one, customize it, use it. Make it clear that "No filled out organizer, no tax return." I scan and store every document and organizer page for verification of what information was given to me. My personal practice I am at 260. My Organizer is about 6 pages. At the firm where I work, we do approx. 3,000 returns. We have an extensive organizer. We could not work properly without them.

How many clients do you have?

I guess I chose the right IRS classes at the last 2 years forums, and the nearly 40 hours of training from other seminars in each of the last two years has paid off. I don't need the forms to learn how the rules apply to people, what is supposed to be done, and when thing apply and when they don't. All of those things have been in place for at least 2 years. Putting the numbers on the forms is the LAST thing, and the least important thing I need to learn. I know why and what must be on the forms. The rest is elementary. I was proactive, it is that simple. I have obtained over 40 hours of CPE in calendar year 2012 and 2013. Attended the IRS Nationwide tax forum both years. I am well on the way to clearing over 40 hours of CPE again this year. I feel there is no excuse for any tax professional to not be prepared by now, with all the resources that are available.

S corporation officers compensation- Corporation owning real estate

OK, I am missing how the single owner of an S-Corp is allowed NOT to take a reasonable salary. Have I missed a major point concerning S-Corps? -
I started learning and taking seminars 2 tax seasons ago. There was a ton of information available at the IRS forums. I too, have a good grasp on how, when and what to do. It surprises me how many have waited till 3 months before tax season to start investigating. I do believe that the necessary information you will need will be difficult to obtain, learn and get a handle on in the short time remaining. Just my observed and experienced opinion.

It is a scientific and genetic fact that if your parents did not have any kids, neither will you.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun. Fact. Reality. Removing guns from the stream will have no effect on the criminals. Still waiting on the law that will cause criminals to start obeying the laws. You will end up with non-working junk.

Retirement accounts are not included in the calculation for FAFSA. Other investments are.

Do you really want to work on Organizers before the Congress plays football with all the tax laws AFTER the election? Most likely the last week in December? They have set a precedent in this area. Me, too much too soon.

Heard it all before. Believed it all before. Disappointed in it before. Same song, 4th verse. Skeptical.

With discussions that $200-$300 difference in the price of software is a major concern, how do $800-$2,000 electronic gadgets not get caught in the same concerns? An adequate laptop can be acquired for $600. Tablets are quite more expensive. I am missing things here....

Normal except there is no optical drive. Not a "...normal PC / Laptop..." by any definition. Overpriced, bragging rights toy.
