Can a 23 year old who finished classes in Feb 2015 and must do a 4 month internship at local lab (for which she was not paid) be considered a student. The internship was required in order to obtain her degree per school.?

KC I thought under this arrangement that along with all the other items being paid for as a house owner tp had to pay the lender direct that it couldn't be paid to the other party and then paid to lender. I may have read it wrong though. Your thought here.

Husband was taking RMD from IRA. He died spouse inherited. Spouse gets money in her hands. Takes it to another bank and puts it back into an ira for her and then takes her RMD from it. 1099r shows total distribution from Husband with code 4. MY thinking and reading is this is still ok? Thus no tax on the full distribution

I have seen dumpster diving and folks finding all kinds of good stuff???? to donate to who knows what. What some people will go to.

Mine did it a lot today. Sometimes it closed the program sometimes it did not. Can't believe after 3 years of this nasty item they can't fix it. I know my equipment is more than par so can't blame it on that. My 2 cents worth. Hey Jack how can you tell if autosave is working or not? I never really depended on it anyway. But know it makes me wonder if CTRL/s works.

I have H on medicare all year. Spouse is through market place. Gross income on joint return 80k causing the ACA advance payment to be repaid in full. Does this sound reasonable? Income way up do to some last minute stock sales and a hard hit on taxable SS.

Anybody try the 2 fax numbers for the 4506 and 4506t forms. Our recpt has tried for 2 days to fax one down. It dials then 2 clicks then hangs up. Is there an alternate number for these forms anybody know about?

OK TP w-2 shows a difference in wages box1 to ss wages in box 3. The difference in these two are coded 414H in box 14. This is a county school w-2. I think not qualified for the 8880 form. Am I wrong?

TP and dad(72 years old) own a small business and run it as a partnership. Very small contractor with assets consisting of only cash and 1 fully depreciated old truck. Dad has deceided to give his half interest in partnership to TP's wife. TP does 95% of work. Dad has taken very little out the past 5 years. Question becomes can I continue this partnership on with TP and Spouse or do I have to shut it down. Spouse would help where she could (ie day to day schedules, bookkeeping fielding phone calls as TP and dad have no real office). What do think?

Lets address the earnings issue. Is the $1900.00 rule per employee. So that if one was over and the other one not over we only owe SS and MT on the one that is over. But lets look at b giving that one may meet the $1000 rule. So does this mean that we owe everything on everybody?

As I reread and reread that's the way I am going.

Catherine you back yet?

Yes, Would be handy to have state also. I normally put this page right in behind the client letter or on top of the cover sheet. What is you practice. Clients like to see that info.
-
In my case I rolled over 1 return with all payers, w-2, ero etc attached. Then opened that return and everything was there. I may have to reattach the ero info but very seldom. Also check your preferences in the rollover manage. Just my take.

So in retrospect even tho this is a store revolving account treat items as in service and choose which way I may go on dep or deminus rule instead of waiting until its paid for? Is this what we are thinking?

TP is auto mechanic (Sch C). Buys tools from Snap On truck with open account. Pays whatever mim happens to be each week. Buys bigger tools(boxes and scanners) on a Snap On account and pays mim each week. I read somewhere that because this is handled as a store account TP cannot write these tools off until paid for. Am I totally off base because these tools were put in service the year TP got them, not when he paid them off. Help me grab control of this as I will be picking up this TP as a new client this year.

I remember that there being on the invoice page itself there was a box to show bill amounts on the worksheet page or the actual invoice page. You may want to check there.

Can we file these on Black and white paper yet? I know we can the w-2 and w-3.

I was thinking the same way UNLESS the character of the gain retains its passive status through out the collection period. That I think may be clue. Any thoughts?

In looking at a 2012 filed return, the rental loss on sch e was about 36K. However in checking form 8582 I found the entire loss being allowed as CPA included gains from 6252 that were reported on the form 4797 from previous sale of another rental. I cannot ascertain if this position is correct. What would you say?
-
TP has a rental acquired in 2005. Took regular dep (27.5years). TP sold on installment sale with a gain higher than original cost. Gain would consist of gain due to dep and gain above cost. I think gain due to dep would be 1250 gain and thus taxed at the max 25%. Question is as payments are received is the 1250 gain recaptured first and then the remainder gain as plain capital gain? I tried getting through the pubs for sales and can't seem to grasp which is first. Manny thanks to insight in this picture.

Right on. The only problem is when you start answering your self. Of course I don't hear well after dark either.
