  1. I haven't had pancakes since my boyfriend went to Germany to work. I was trying to teach him to cook, so I would be fed during last tax season. He got really good at pancake and waffles. Not too bad at spaghetti either. Oh well, microwave some ribs. The dog will be very happy.
  2. I think I'm gonna have me some more ribs, and watch another movie. I'm smiling at last.

    tadpoles

Well, at this point the water is nothing you'd want to bathe in, tadpoles or not. Frog leg BBQ in a few months? Or just a frog pond. Away from my bedroom window though.
  4. I never log out and never have to log in. Joan
  5. They don't have to sign the efile form; in fact, you have to remove all PIN info to get them to create. I started efiling them this year; so easy. The only ones I printed out were for people that had to send in checks. Even mine I had direct debited. Just like efiling 1099s; don't think I'll ever go back to paper. Joan
  6. :D Oh because the dancing banana is what I need. My last efile, which has gotten rejected by ATX the last two times through, just went to agency. So whatever stinkin' form refused to update is in there. After the last download, ATX froze my program.....now at least I feel validated for not going into the office on my day off to answer stoopid tax questions which I hate. Think I'll go outside and watch the tadpoles and smell the roses.... Joan

    tadpoles

They're pretty big actually, from what I remember of tadpoles. For awhile, the noise of frogs outside my bedroom window was starting to drive me nuts. I like having wildlife though. Used to have some baby possums that would come in and eat the cat food. Of course, I do want to get the hot tub fixed. Maybe I need to put in a frog pond? Joan

    tadpoles

My hot tub got all messed up this winter, and I've just ignored it. But I keep hearing frogs outside my window. First one, then two then lots. I just looked in the hot tub. Its full of mosquito larvae. And also full of tadpoles. Don't want to kill the tadpoles....do tadpoles eat mosquitoes? After tax season, the problems just get wierder....
  9. That's what i used to do. After the spring semester of school, too, even before I started working as a n accountant. Then I started doing a week at Yosemite. This year, nothing for a few weeks because of work. Want to go to a spa and get totally pampered. Joan
  10. I'm in the same boat. might as well buy max. PRS was a pain anyways, especially if you are transfering files to a new computer (found that out last year...)
  11. sure, 595 for office, but then PRS is 370 for a total of 965.
  12. I just got the missing client's extension to go. I just reheated up some ribs and am going to sit in front of the TV with a movie. whoo hoo! Except they really really want me in the office tomorrow because of the tax hotline we run. And monday is my day off.... Joan
  13. I noticed the name was a bit different on the 2004 return (where I entered the info from) and the 2005 which I got later. What I assumed was a middle name appears to actually be a double last name, per the 2005 return. refiled it per the 2005; will see what happens later today or tonight. Joan
  14. Got return rejected with errors FD0504 (did not appear to input dependents name properly) and FD0524 which doesn't appear in the knowledgebase, and of course these are errors which, when you click on 'show rejection errors' you get the message 'there are no rejection errors,', which is really frustrating when your return was just rejected! Joan
  15. Well, last year I got in with the marvelous "get max for the price of 1040 Office" and was thrilled. I was buying 1040 office + PRS + W-2/1099 because I found out you can't efile 1099s without it and once you efile 1096s you will never go back to paper. Now PRS is $270 ($100 registration fee + $170 for 10 returns) and instead of buying extra returns for $11 each, its $85 for 5. So I'm stuck with buying Max, or a different system for business returns (I don't do hardly any biz returns). I also efile everyone. I thought, well 100 is more than I do, but when you count fed and state as two, plus all the extensions, and the 1099s.....adds up doesn't it!
  16. Thanks for this post; it reminded me to update. Don't want rejects from ATX this time of year! Joan
  17. I was going to add in something about my last appointment, but when I came back in after the appointment, I found my cat on top of my laptop keypad...again. She hides in the office, so when I close it up to keep her out, I actually trap her in. this morning I came in and speech recognition and narrator was on.....and supposedly my admin was locked. It still appears to be locked. This cat is going to drive me crazy. I leave the laptop open because my backup runs automatically when I go to bed. I am so fried....
  18. Once you have a basis in an IRA you have to file the 8606. Every year. You can file it without the return, though. Joan
  19. I think you have to get them from the US tax court site. However, you can save them in PDF form. On the site they also create and print out the required number of forms; I think its four. Joan
  20. Mine was from Robot something. don't even open those.
  21. It should only be calculating the DIFFERENCES. Check to see where it is adding back the exclusion
  22. Do you have form 3885A/D open? That calculates CA differences on capital gains. There may be something happening there.
  23. Posted this on another board but got no answers, so: TP had SSI back pay, and had to report repayment to Unum in 2004, and apply for a credit under claim of right for 2005. Does VT have a similar credit for 2005 under claim of right, or some other provision to recoup tax paid on income that was repaid? Thanks all!
