  3. I have a 4 person llc files as 1065. 2 husband and wife. both women work in business and take guarantee payments. husbands will do odd repairs etc around business not much. I know both women are active individual. but the men are they passive. all are 25% partners. I am thinking they don't material participate in the business with the 500 hrs so if loss then theirs would be passive and carry until the 1065 has gain. and when there is a profit 2 will be subj to SE and 2 will not. Am I thinking along the right track? I of course would like to have his K-1 offset some of hers but they don't work it. thanks

  6. first the IRA manager is required to tell them every year what the RMD is. But there is a pub that gives you the % you must take out based on age and balance of accounts 12/31 of previous year. If he does wait until next year before April 1 then he must take two out that year. Just put RMD in the search on IRS website
  7. I would deduct them as uniforms. If you were not an employee who would wear them? I have even seen companies buy hats with the names on them and give them out and that goes to advertising.
  8. I have a 2010 1099 R code P that goes nowhere on 2010 but I know code is for taxable in 2009. When I go to 2009 it is a 13 difference in tax. 1099r only for 50. But question is where does it go. Line 16 or 21 as I don't have a 1099r for 2009 or is it B as it is for earnings on excess contributions. thanks for any help

  13. IRA holder issues a 5498 form every year to the IRS and client where it shows rollover contributions. regular contributions balance of account. alot of the company don't mail until May. I think that must be the due date
  14. Are you sure? I thought that is the way it used to be then a notice came out saying the estimate will aply on date return filed? Or maybe I am just dreaming. either way that is the way I do it incase we are low on estimate of balance due with return.

  20. JUST HAVe one sch se in return and mark it taxpayer at the top and be sure to mark the sch C taxpayer too. it goes automatic with ATX
  21. do you file a return that is below the filing requirements for IRS? taxpayer has a rental with gross rents of 7200 no other income. on SS disablity. MFJ. so only reason to file would be SOL ? nonresidnet on CO where rental is at and their filing requirements is if need to file federal or owe CO tax. we filed last year because they got the FTHB credit. do you file these kinds of returns just for the SOL?
  22. I am trying to efile an corrected 1099-misc that a client paper filed the orginial one wrong amount. but when I try to efile the corrected one is says because the original wasn't accepted it won't let me create. Am I missing a step?
