  1. Have we heard when they will be fixing the error on the 1040 worksheet for taxable SS with the 300.00 donation deduction? it is still wrong. if you are not at max taxable SS and do the 300 donation it is wrong.

    2019 E-file

are they accepting 2019 e-file returns today also? I still can't get onto ATX support. I had one rejected.

    8879

I just noticed that the 2020 8879 form does not have the year up in the right hand corner as in previous year. this makes it hard for first glance when you do multiple years. Wonder why they changed it?
  4. I am trying to download the program thru the ATX website but I can't get logged in. My password must have expired, I already downloaded the program on the main computer now wanting to do on my home computer. I said forgot password and they were supposed to email me a code to reset. I never get the email. tried last week and and again today. Is support open on Sunday? when I called the phone message said all password resets are down automatic. Don't call for password resets. TIA
  5. Does ATX have the form 1040-SR? I don't see it in the forms list. Isn't that what we file for non filers who just need the stimulus?
  6. Yes, and Oregon has errors again this year on the Federal tax deduction. No adjustment for the stimulus payments. it takes them forever to fix Oregon errors. Guess we are too small of state.
  7. That is what I am doing every morning after I turn on the computer. but it is back to disabled the next morning.
  8. This year I have to go to control panel, Services and find ATX both 2019 and 2020 and change because they say disabled and won't start. If I don't do both 19 & 20 then nothing will roll over. Does anyone know why this is happening? I called tech when I couldn't open the 2020 and this is what the tech did to open 2020. I don't want to have to do this every time I turn on the computer. Any ideas??? TIA
  9. Child support is the only thing that is supposed to be used for offset. But with those numbers I agree over the 150,000.
  10. I will answer my own question also. You must delete the 1099-misc for the 1096 to print correctly.
  11. how did you get the 1096 to change to 1099-NEC instead of 1099-misc.? it has the total number count but it marks the wrong box and doesn't put the total money amount.
  12. I think of this every year and never take the time to do it.
  13. This new this year. A separate line for the 1099's withholding. And yes good suggesting to customize forms to always have it there.
  14. Found the problem, so for some reason the 6252 in the 2019 program was marked final. I had to unmark and rollover again. I then spot checked other 6252 in other clients and they were all marked final. I know I didn't mark them final. Must be a glitch in ATX.
  15. Every year I have problems with this. I can't get the 6252 to rollover the information from prior year. Is there somewhere I am missing checking?
  16. IF you use ATX do them on the 2019 program.
  17. but they opened there "free E-file" on their website today. How does that work? oops, never mind they can do return but won't be sent to IRS until the 12th also.
  18. I attended an update class this weekend and it was talked about the Medishare health "insurance" could in 2020 be deductible. I find where it is deductible under Schedule A as medical, but they also said as a self employed health insurance deduction under adjustments. I can't find that in my research. Has anyone seen this new law? Can you point me in the right direction? TIA
  19. I had the same problem last week and it finally opened back up on Friday and got my EIN for a new restaurant opening! yes a restaurant, surprise, surprise.
  20. the disaster extension was to January 15th for no penalty and interest in you are in that area. So we must paper file by the 15th or be late.
  21. SO I thought it all would be on 2020 return. Otherwise people would have to wait until 2022 to get the stimulus on their 2021 tax return. That doesn't make sense.....but wait maybe it is the IRS.
  22. I am too scared to go with a refurbished. probably just as good but I always go with new and keep for 3-4 years.
  23. My question is if they didn't get any stimulus payment and they now owe taxes will the stimulus payment just go to pay the taxes due or will they get it refunded. Everyone who owed taxes still received the stimulus but these people who for some reason did not receive the early payment may now not get it.
