  1. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I do love this board... you are so helpful
  2. I knew this would catch up to me sometime...but why on the eve of April Fools Day, Opening day of Baseball season and with 8 inches of new snow to shovel.... Box 1 shows $20,000 but nothing in box 3 or 5...and box 14 has $6500 housing allowance. She actually rents an apartment in a different town for $6000...so what is subject to SE tax...$6500 or the excess $500. and if it all ($26500) is subject to se tax do you have people file quarterly estimates to cover this? Didn't realize they were paid so poorly, their reward in Heaven should be great... thanks for your help...I have been at this since 1979 and have avoided doing clergy returns...now I see why!
  3. Sorry to bother you during the state basketball tournament but I got an e-mail from MN Revenue with reference to Revenue Connection #2 dated March 26th 2008. The scary part was the third issue "Taxwise software issue" but there was no further information and Revenue connection #2 is not listed on their website. Does anyone have any additional information? :dunno:
  4. actually box 14 states TAXABLE third party sick pay...that's why I am confused.
  5. It is not in box 12, it is in box 1 (not 3 or 5) and box 14 identifiedas third party sick pay.
  6. I am doing some volunteer work for local nursing home. A resident came to the home late in the year. His income for the year was all third party sick pay. He is 64 and otherwise qualifies for EIC. I can't find any reference that specifically includes or excludes the third party sick pay for EIC. I would appreciate some input on this. Thanks.
  7. Minnesota automatically registers electronic return originators nationwide Minnesota will automatically enroll authorized IRS e-file providers with an IRS electronic filer identification number (EFIN) into Minnesota's e-file program on a nationwide basis. The IRS generally posts updates once per week for Minnesota to modify it records. Questions? 8. The 10 page packet that is being sent to social security recipients who did not file last year is on the IRS website....Yes, I said 10 pages!
  9. The short answer to your question about how much the letter from the IRS will cost....$42 Million. I read that in the paper....
  10. I have been getting TWO MN property tax letters with every rollover...and property tax statements aren't even out yet....so ATX must have decided I needed mine AND yours....
  11. Thanks for this information. I just downloaded their demo and it looks similar to ATX. How is their support?
  12. Maybeupdated 03-02-08--We found an error with posting our stand-alone state acks this weekend. This would include the following states(CA, ME, MN, & MA). You will see "validated by the EFC" in your system, and no ack. Development is currently working on resolving this issue however, this is a manual process and it will take some time to get these acks reposted. If you duplicated a return, then once the ack is reposted to you, it will not change the status of these returns. In that case, you will need to query the return on the support site to find the exact status. If the return is accepted, then you should mark the return as complete Maybe this will explain your problem...not solve it though The above words are words from MyATX support
  13. 02/27/2008 If you receive this error, it is usually related to high volume peak efile periods. If you keep trying, you should have success in efiling or downloading acknowledgements. Error: The transmission can't continue due to a server error. Error: Received response 12031: Unknown from the server instead of an XML document. I think this is an ONGOING problem...I got it at midnight Sunday, hardly a high volume peak...I have found that if you just keep trying they eventually go thru....
  14. MN2V

    WOW

One in a million....not bad odds
  15. I think this is more an ONGOING problem we will have all season.
  16. I sent an e-mail to tech support asking if ATX would be coming out with the calculations. I got a speedy reply that they had NONE planned and didn't expect to provide any....Silly me to expect more...
  17. Would the Social Security have that information?
  18. They fixed it so good that when I just tried again I got a rolling report of EVERY e-file I have sent this year...Suppose that makes up for the hours lost trying to figure things out...Makes life with ATX interesting.
  19. There is a problem, and they are aware of it...Mary in tech support "overheard someone talking about it" and the solution is to JUST KEEP TRYING AND MAYBE BY TOMORROW THEY WILL HAVE IT FIXED!
  20. I have a part time farmer who paid his wife in commodity wages. Are these subject to SE and/or employment taxes?
  21. Go to ATX home page; ATX news (lower left corner) ATX TV and scroll down to ATX A>M>....it didn't do anything for me, I guess I have better things to do than listen to how great ATX is....
  22. Does ATX actually notify you when your password is about to expire? My day must be coming soon...wonder if I should monitor it myself...
  23. I did get an e-mail reply from Heather Avery...Customer Service Level 3/email team...AFTER I had a federal return get accepted and then the direct debit denied because I had forgotten to add the phone number...That used to be caught in the checking....She also suggested that we update using the manual update rather than the automatic update as the automatic only updates the forms that are installed in your program..? And then she went on to give Bonus information about ATX A.M. ...a quick fill on information you need right away...Program airs at 9 am EST and lasts 5-10 minutes...and if you miss, you can view each day's show until the next morning.... My only comment is this many weeks into the season what information do we need right away except when Hawaii can start e-filing!
  24. All of the Minnesota returns I e-filed yesterday came back this morning Rejected with code 809. Is anyone else having this problem? Reject code 809 is something about the date, never had this before...can someone help me? Thanks.
  25. I would be lost or in a straight-jacket without this community board. Glad I could help. Like you, I have learned a lot without being the one asking...it helps to know we are in this together...sink or swim....well, maybe not today, but it is supposed to be warmer tomorrow!
