I have heard of the brave browser, it seem people who are “youtuber” use this browser to get back at YouTube for censoring their content. Supposedly it blocks ads, YouTube and YouTubers don’t make money if the ads are not shown or something like that.

Any today we wake up to a new version of Edge installed on our Windows 10 machines, I never said I wanted it.

Funny, when I was in college, they recommended we use Netscape browser, a couple of years later it disappeared, used IE for a couple of years, then our IT person recommended Mozilla in the mid 2000s, and today they recommend using Chrome or Firefox, but not IE

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong, after the IRS stopped faxing transcripts I signed up for online access, haven't used it since, yesterday I got locked out for attempting to log in too many times. I believe the problem I am having is with the site image and site phrase, but it doesn't allow me to confirm or deny, just allows me to put in my password. Yesterday I participated in a PPP webinar and here a couple of things I didn’t know of: 1. Many business will not qualify for the loan forgiveness even after the 24 month extension (presenters opinion) period, the why to follow. 2. Employees do not want to return back to work because they make more collecting unemployment. 3. New hires are on the same boat as # 2 or have better options 4. Employers are required to report any employee that refused to come back to work to the unemployment department (I have a couple clients with this problem). 5. Owner compensation has to be separated from the rest of the employees salaries. 6. Employers are allowed to give bonuses to reach the loan forgiveness threshold. 7. Full time employee calculation will be required. 8. Sch C owner who received a loan and are now collecting unemployment is now a no no. 8. Many clients that applied are going to have a hard time filing out form 3508 and schedules, to brush up on it to help your clients with the application.

Does anybody find joy in preparing a tax return using a trail balance only? I know it’s the same thing as the BS & PL but when the TB is almost 4 page long, I would prefer an actual BS and PL. I guess I feel more comfortable sticking to what has worked for me in the past.

Never heard of it, looked it up and looks like QB online, but the only feedback I give is to make sure the vendor allows you to export the files to excel or any usable format in case you decide to go with another software. One more, the goal is always for the software to be user friendly for the accountant, not the client, as you probably have read some of our comments regarding QB online. Good luck

I have a weird one that I cannot explain, efiled a 2018 tax return on May 21, TP calls me this past Saturday," I received a check from the IRS for $XXX" and I responded saying it was probably the stimulus check he has been waiting for, then when he gave me the amount (wasn't rounded to the nearest 100th), I said the amount doesn't seem to be the stimulus check. So I had him read the information off the check it said 12/2018, and yes he received his refund via paper check in less then two weeks, and the strangest thing, the return was marked for direct deposit

Anyone else experiencing hold up with clients refunds? I have two that I submitted in late March and early April and the status is they are still being processed. Who know if there are others out there, but only two have called me to let me know.

Why not get them to provide you with the legal documents of how these business are structured, how they compliment each other etc.... Get a “Help me, help you” attitude or send them backing with all their confusion.

TP is doing work (temporary but get's extended) for an agency in DC, TP home state is IL, for 2019 TP worked for the whole year for the agency, but would come occasionally to their home state. Would the person qualify was a non-resident? Thanks

So people don't think we are boring, should we start a new post to see how many years each has been doing taxes and what equipment/software they have used in the past?

Funny how we can all relate, and this conversation is happening to often, when I talk to non-tax persons or people that don't deal with clients, they always say "why do you setup boundaries". I hate when that happens, but they correct, so please share how you took over the driver seat and took away the power from that pushy person.
