  2. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Affordable Care Act is going to kill us all anyway. Which is ironic when you think about it...

  3. 1. I filed an extension, so I don't need to pay anything now. 2. I had a big loss in the stock market, so I won't owe any taxes. 3. I got paid in cash, so I don't need to report it. 4. I'm too young to pay taxes. 5. Income earned outside the U S isn't taxable. 6. Tax Preparers just fill out forms that you can do yourself. Since a number of my clients are S Corporations and their owners, my favorite is, " I didn't take any distributions so I don't owe any taxes." Please feel free to add to the list.

  13. Too broad, and therefore incorrect. 2014 tax year, only 1095-A will be issued. 2015 1095-A will be issued from the marketplace. All insurers will send 1095-B. Only employers with 100 or more full time, or equivalent, workers are required to send 1095-C 2016 1095-A will be issued from the marketplace. Insurers will send 1095-B. Only employers with 50 or more full time, or equivalent, workers are required to send 1095-C The 1095-C should be sent with employee's W-2 for 2015 & later. In addition, people with Medicaid will not receive a 1095. People eligible for Medicaid are exempt from having to have insurance.

  14. I guess it depends upon what legacy you want to leave with your clients. I would NEVER dump them to the "no customer service" world of H&R. If you don't care, then it can be a profitable "exit strategy." My professional reputation is much more valuable than that. When the day comes I choose to exit, I will interview perspective purchasers and find someone who will provide the same level of customer satisfaction and professionalism as I strive to have.
