  1. Maybe they should let the preparer's age also factor in to determine if the SR form is available.

  2. I think it's a bank decision to accept or to not accept a direct deposit without a name match. The someone else would need to work with his bank to know if they will accept. I've seen it work for a kid's refund to go into his parents' account, when kid has no bank account.

  3. I always add it as a separate line item on 'other expenses'. 481(a) adjustment, $xxxx.xx if expense, or as a separate line item in 'other income' 481(a) adjustment +$xxxx.xx if income

  4. If the preparer is the designee, check both boxes and see the box in the preparer section. 3rd party box will be blank.

  6. I add a question to the organizer every year asking if they kept a mileage log for all business or rental miles.

  9. I have run into this same problem with S Corporation clients several times in recent years. With my clients the problem arose because of a lazy salesperson who didn't want to do the extra paperwork told my clients they didn't need to register the vehicle in the corporate name. My firm policy is to make the client go back and have the paperwork redone correctly, which they have done.

  10. Using normal ATX, numbers do not flow from the 3115. You must input the 481(a) adjustment where it goes on the 1120S. It might be easy to program that for ATX, but when it comes to 1040s, where it goes depends on the activity the change relates to. Even in a business return, there may be more than one activity, and ATX wouldn't have any idea where to put the income or deduction.

  11. I was able to come in early today and got right thru to support. They logged in my computer and fixed it. She also offered to download my 2019 program to see if I had any problems. Everything went great and we were done in 23 minutes. Best tech support I have had from ATX since the very beginning.

  12. This is one of the reasons I left ATX. Even in the good old days, we waited for form approval and release. What I fail to understand is why? I have used several other programs since the CCH buyout and did not have to wait on any form releases. Even NC was ready. I am using Drake and have been since 2016 and everything is ready to go by the end of the first week in January. How is it that ATX cannot seem to get these forms out each year when Drake can. Just wondering and glad I don't have the issues that ATX users are having.
