  1. Fifteen years is a long time, but 9/11 is remembered vividly by all of us as the most profound and defining day in America's history. We lost nearly three thousand heroes that day, civilians and first responders alike. As a former firefighter in NYC, I know why 343 firefighters and 60 police officers were killed. There is a segment of a bible proverb in every firehouse, "Greater Love Hath No Man" (than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends). Those first responders ascending the towers' staircases knew what their fate might be. But they still tried to get as many people out as possible. That's the job, that's what we do. September 11th is called Patriot Day, a day of Service and Remembrance. A fitting dedication to honor all those lost on that awful day. First responders around the world do their job with unwavering dedication, continuing the legacies of those lost. We will be doing the same as we remember and serve those in need. Please say a prayer for all those who have become sick from 9/11 related diseases. 120 NYC firefighters have died since, and many others are battling for their lives.

  2. I enjoy playing with them. When they ask my name, I give them the name of one of our Government Administration people. I then pretend that I DO owe tens of thousands and have been running. I have kept one of these on the phone for about 10 minutes before I slipped up. I am looking to improve on my personal best in this competition. The longer I keep them busy, the less time for them to find someone gullible. It is a shame though, that 1 out of 7 of their calls finds someone uninformed and gullible to send them money.

  3. I had a robo-call message on my machine a couple of days ago. This one was different! At the end of the "you have a fraud case and the IRS is going to arrest you unless you call blah-blah" the robo-voice ended with "God bless you" -- now THERE is proof the IRS did not make the call!

  5. Exactly. Even if I don't have time for a robo-call, I put the headset down and let the live person come on and talk to the air. If I can tie up their line for a minute, and if thousands of others do also, there's thousands of calls they can't make today.

  6. We got a bunch over a few days, more than one a day. Hubby really wanted to play with them. But by the time he'd pick up, they were gone; and their callback numbers went to voicemail or didn't connect to anything. He's retired with time on his hands and wants to string one of them along!

  7. For most that have already passed the AFTR and are already in the AFSP, is will most likely be 15 hours including the 6 hr of tax refresher, BUT it might also depend on what state you are licensed and practicing in.
