Since the day CCH closed the community in 2007, I have not even logged in or visited the "Official Community." All the quality members moved over here. I WILL NOT participate in the Official Community. I stated this to all the CCH management people at the CAB in no uncertain terms.

I have switched to 90% drop off. No appointment needed. I have a drop box in the wall beside the door. Solves the problem, and I am more productive with no one sitting there watching me.

Form 5329

I would choose to refuse unless the client came into compliance. I hold my professional standards MUCH HIGER than a few dollars for a tax preparation.
-
Not reporting known blatant violations is being compliant with them. Circular 230 now requires that if you "have knowledge of" and do not act according to the regulations, you are an accessory to their actions. I work too hard, spend too much time and money to stay compliant to let some thieving low-life imitate my career and steal from me and the taxpayers. Looking the other way is just as bad as participating.

The Church Organist. A small church had a very attractive big-busted organist, Linda, and her breasts were so large that they bounced and jiggled while she played the organ. Unfortunately, she distracted the congregation considerably.... The very proper church ladies were appalled. They said something had to be done about this or they would have to get another organist. So one of the ladies approached Linda very discreetly about the problem, and told her to mash up some green persimmons and rub them on her nipples and over her breasts, which should cause them to shrink in size, but warned her not to taste any of the green persimmons, because they are so sour they will make your mouth pucker up, and you won't be able to talk properly for a while. The voluptuous organist reluctantly agreed to try it. The following Sunday morning the minister walked up to the pulpit and said, "Dew to thircumsthanthis bewond my contwol, we will not hab a thermon tewday".

For those following this issue, the 13.3 update CORRECTS the backup file size issue. Install the update on ALL computers.

This is stolen but fits here very well... Thank You KC...

When/if the IRS asks for the money back with penalties and interest, her "...knew nothing about it..." defense will be as effective as unicorn farts. She signed the return. When dealing with the IRS, ignorance is NOT bliss. I am certain it was marked as "self prepared" so the weight is on her shoulders. I would think that an Admin Assistant at a college would have a bit more "street smarts" than to blindly go forward with this kind of thing.

ABSOLUTELY DO THE UPDATE!

REPORT REPORT REPORT No questions. Just do it. Inform your new client that she must amend 2012 and repay the overpayment. You cannot force her to, but you should do it in writing and have her sign that you informed her. Do NOT do the return for 2013 unless she permits you to amend 2012. Scrap the dinosaur. http://www.staples.com/Brother-MFC-7360N-Laser-Multifunction-Printer/product_918236 This is like the one I use. Toner Carts can be refilled very easily and very cheap. Live dangerously!! Go for the GUSTO!!! You would spend more on a night out with your wife than you will on this printer.

Well Played!!! Is there any chance that he drinks warm Corona beer?

I understand the Burrito Support line has much faster response time.

Undoubtedly, FTM has been blocked by the admins of the Official Board. The Admin there has the power and authority to do that.

Since being a ref is not a full time job, does not require an office in the home, and he does not have an office in the home, then you are correct. Commuting miles and not deductible.
-
What "patch" are you referring to?
-
DO NOT DELETE THE "HIDDEN" BACKUP FILE. Leave it alone. The program update is supposed to clean out the unneeded data in the backup file.
-
But did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night?

He better plan on not getting his refund. Very rarely do the organization that can capture the refund keep the status with the IRS current. I know that child support and Student loan collections do not. Then it takes months to get the improperly captured money back.
-
If it is considered a "Federal" loan, it could generate a capture of the refund. I do not know if an SBA loan is considered Federal or not. I have a client that had her refund tagged for a Federal debt that was not taxes, child support or Student loans. Not sure what it was, but when I found the name, she all of a sudden had a big memory recovery. Nothing else was ever said.

Go to MYATX and check the e-file status there. Sometimes, info does not make it to the ack system. This was a small issue back in 2011.
-
Installed 13.3. So far, no issues. The backup file size issue will take a few days to verify.
-
IF the update works as described, yes. IF

"In the past" is in the past. 2013 is entirely different. In rollover manager, there are options to rollover all the different information databases.
