The program will properly take care of the SID#. More important things to worry about. The IRS process is completely different this year. Further implementation of the MEF protocols. I always hold the state till the Federal is accepted. If the Federal is rejected and I have to make a change that affects the State, then no amendment is necessary. 10 years of taking care of the e-filing at our firm, e-filing 2,800+ clients each year, I have had ZERO issues with DCN on any return. That is why I consider it minutiae.

For personal returns?

New process by the IRS this year. All is well.

Look at the return in 2012. Remove any added notes in any field. Then save, Then rollover again. This problem is supposed to be addressed in the upcoming program update on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Please tell me ONE instance of the IRS ever checking, verifying or complaining about this fact??? Minutiae!!

JB, I will take you up on the invite to stop by Sidney. It is not that far up the road! Been a long time since I ate at the Spot and the Big Buy is something I never tried!! Maybe on a Sat or Sun to unwind in the middle of the season?

What are you paying as far as rates?

In return manager, click on forms, then choose "customize master" Open the 1040EF INFO page and put an x in the "declines" box. Save it. Now any new returns will have that box checked as default.

For anyone seeking help, today will be the last day I will be able to devote a lot of time to this. Starting tomorrow, it is all tax returns and clients.

Return still only shows "Transmitted to EFC"
Jack from Ohio replied to Janitor Bob's topic in General Chat

Standalone or network? If network, make sure the server machine is up and running.

I was just asked to wait till ATX releases this information to post it. If you have questions, just PM me.

I am here ready to assist. I am sending e-mails to those that have contacted me. Send me a PM if you want me to clean the problem for you. This WILL be fixed in the update scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, but if you are having issues, I can help you through it.

The problem will be addressed in the next program update scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5, 2014. Just click retry until then. Make sure all of the systems in your network (or your standalone) are set to never hibernate, and the hard drive never to sleep. This information directly from the developers at ATX. Tax business for sale in Asheville NC
Jack from Ohio posted a topic in Business Development & Growth
I met a lady at the IRS forum in Atlanta this past summer. She is interested in selling her tax practice. During our discussions at the Forum, I asked her to contact me first. She has decided that 2013 will be her last season preparing taxes, and has contacted me. Asheville NC is not practical for me. Here is the description of her practice: Thank you for getting back with me. I operate my practice from home so the overhead is kept to its minimum. I have approximately 85 corporate returns and about 275 individual returns. I have been doing it all by myself and this will be my last year. I attached my P&L for the last two years and if someone is interested, you can give them my email address and I will be happy to give them the information needed. I am only selling the tax portion of the business. Again thank you very much for getting back to me and make it a great day! Danielle If anyone is interested, message me and I will provide contact info and the P&L she provided. -
Anytime you have a file that was converted, there is a chance for issues. Makes no difference who the original tax program was. It is the major reason I and the firm chose to stay with ATX for 2013. I will have 100% rollover at the firm and my private practice for 2013.

I have not started processing any returns yet. I told all my people I am waiting till Feb. 3 to start processing. None of my clients returns will be eaten in the inevitable e-file system crash at the IRS. Just waiting to hear about it. It has become an annual event. I will not submit any e-files before Feb. 4. I see no need to rush...

Are you doing it on the asset entry screen?

ATX CLOSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER???????
Jack from Ohio replied to GeorgeM's topic in General Chat
There are reports from Atlanta officials that pictures being circulated claiming to be from Atlanta are not. But, if it is on the internet it must be true.... -
Did you open the return in 2012 and make sure it converted correctly? Conversions are NEVER totally correct. Too many possibilities for wrong data. You should contact tech support. How many clients do you have? I would plan to have other problems after conversion.

From the IRS website.... What to Expect for Refunds in 2014 The IRS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in less than 21 days. Where’s My Refund? has the most up to date information available about your refund. The tool is updated once a day so you don’t need to check more often. However, it’s possible your tax return may require additional review and take longer. The easiest way to check your refund status is by using our automated tools. Our phone and walk-in representatives can research the status of your refund only if it's been 21 days or more since you filed electronically, more than 6 weeks since you mailed your paper return or if Where’s my refund? directs you to contact us. You can use Where’s My Refund? to start checking on the status of your return within 24 hours after we have received your e-filed return or 4 weeks after you mail a paper return. Where’s My Refund? has a tracker that displays progress through 3 stages: (1) Return Received, (2) Refund Approved and (3) Refund Sent. You will get personalized refund information based on the processing of your tax return. The tool will provide an actual refund date as soon as the IRS processes your tax return and approves your refund. Remember, most refunds will be issued in less than 21 days, and our phone and walk-in representatives can research the status of your refund only if it’s been 21 days or more since you filed electronically or more than 6 weeks since you mailed your paper return.
