Here is a bit more detail.... Yes, update 13.3 that is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, February 4th does address the back-up issues and some other highlights include: Server Connectivity issues - we have implemented some changes that should improve server connectivity and reduce your need to manually retry the connection. Installing an Update: Some customers experienced problems installing an update after downloading it from the ATX website. This issue has been resolved. Mailing Label Alignment: Alignment issues on printed mailing labels have been resolved. Tax Warehouse Data from Rollover: Rollover data in the Tax Warehouse tab no longer displays in the current year tab. Form Rates Now Backed Up: Form rates are now consistently backed up, along with hourly rates, companies, payers, and preparer/ERO data. Filters on the Accounts Receivable Tab: Now working properly. Admin User Name No Longer Case-Sensitive. In previous ATX 2013 builds, you had to enter the Admin user name login with a capital "A." Case-sensitivity no longer applies to any user name—Admin included. l Modifying Security User Groups: You no longer have to close and re-open Security Manager to see a change made to a user group. Form filter changes: Form-type filters (such as Individual, Corporate, etc.) are now visible for every form type. They will no longer change dynamically depending on the returns types in the manager. This change, which applies to Return, Rollover, and E-file Managers, was made to improve performance in these managers. Bank Manager: We have resolved several issues relating to data properly appearing in the Bank Manager. In addition, we have: Restored the Display Rejection Errors function. Re-enabled the Fee Report. Preserved the "Accepted" bank status of imported bank applications. Resolved issues with displaying data in and printing the Acknowledgement History report.

I have always used ERO entered. Using previous AGI will put many Federal rejects in your future. Too many of those and the compliance auditor will be knocking.

Jump to the input screen for line 21. It is there.

Paper is sticking together in your printer. -
I never have that issue. I use 1040 exclusively. Less confusion. Takes no longer to do the 1040.

Must be the case that most of the people with issues have them corrected. Only 3 people took me up on my offer on Saturday. I was able to provide some good assistance to those folks. Unless I get an unexpected break in my schedule, that much time to assist will probably not be available till May. I will try to help on here as much as possible.

Watch for announcements about this today.

I will inquire. For some reason, I seem to be able to get quality answers when I send e-mails to them these days.... -
MD and DC minor ATX issues (Have discovered any?)
Jack from Ohio replied to Pacun's topic in General Chat
Did you report these glitches? Without reporting them, the developers will not know they exist. The program no longer has cells, it has data entry fields. ATX2013 is NOT a spreadsheet based program. -

This will be fixed in the program update scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. -
You ARE overthinking this one. Part II Reduction of Tax Attributes. You must attach a description of any transactions resulting in the reduction in basis under section 1017. See Regulations section 1.1017-1 for basis reduction ordering rules, and, if applicable, required partnership consent statements. (For additional information, see the instructions for Part II.)

CA practitioners: RET TS $ amount in box 14 of W-2

W-2 input screen. Box 14. Drop down box. -
I have not checked those states yet. Last year, 2010 and 2011 e-files were both accepted by Ohio. I expect this year that 2011 & 2012 will be also.

Networking them for ATX2013 is the smart thing to do. Trust me. Using separate standalone systems is full of potential trouble this year. Forget all you ever know about ATX from prior years. ATX2013 is totally different. I do not recreate the state return after the Federal is accepted. I create them at the same time and put the state (those that allow it) in held status. The program then changes held status to created when the Federal is accepted. Never have had 2 ID# to be the same ever. Not sure why you have that issue.

Atx tax 2013 storage location may only be modified from server
Jack from Ohio replied to Tax130's topic in General Chat
You can just tell carbonite where the folder is. Moving the files is a risky thing. Program updates in the future my not like it. Easier to configure carbonite to backup the appropriate folder than to mess with where ATX2013 puts the files. -

Did he say it would work for a standalone? -
Joe, check your messages.

He is probably claiming single with 1 exemption. I tell clients to ignore all the calculations on the W-4 and just put the status and exemptions you want.

Numbers are created when the e-file is created. As long as you do not mess with the ID#s, the program will not create duplicates. If you are using multiple non-networked computers (not a smart way) then you must be sure the DCN sequence is set to not have the same numbers. This has been the same since e-filing started.

For the client last name, use the first portion of the hyphenated last name and drop the rest. Skip middle initial.
