  1. I was chosen to be a member of the Consumer Advisory Board. This is a group of ATX users from around the country that will meet in Kennesaw next week. The board is intended to bring input to the ATX developers and upper management about issues that affect us and for recommendations we would like to see in next year's software. Now here is where I need everyone to be civil. I am TOTALLY AWARE of all the shortcomings of the 2012 software. No need to send me a list of all the issues. I am totally immersed in the beta testing and have been VERY vocal and straight with them about these shortcomings and what they are doing to correct them. What I would like from everyone, is a list of viable and reasonable additions and changes you would like to see in the 2013 software. I will take each non-abusive recommendation seriously and present it to them. I am considering this an honor and opportunity to help all the ATX users. Send me PMs with your suggestions. I promise to give them the proper attention and pass them along. There will be internet access there, so I will be able to check in. If you send me a PM, I will give you my e-mail address for quicker communication. I am taking this opportunity seriously. I will ignore anyone who chooses to be rude and insulting.
  2. Pay attention to all my posts on this subject. I am a beta tester for standalone & a domain network. I have had significant and numerous discussions with directors of the total software and the development division. Trust me when I say that I gave them the thorough going over and in depth grilling about the actual changes for 2013. My impression is that the new people in charge are seriously on board to put out a 2013 product that works. Stay tuned.
  3. I do not file the return until paid. No excuses. April 15 comes the same time every year, and people have plenty of time to plan. I get some resistance at first, but stand my ground. I ask if the Grocery Store or Gas Station will do the same for them...
  4. I thought the joke placed the pompous mom as the racist...
  5. Save return, close return. Open return, create e-file, send e-file again.
  6. A US Navy cruiser anchored in Mississippi for a week's shore leave. The first evening, the ship's Captain received the following note from the wife of a very wealthy and influential plantation owner: "Dear Captain, Thursday will be my daughter Melinda's Debutante Ball. I would like... you to send four well-mannered, handsome, unmarried officers in their formal dress uniforms to attend the dance." "They should arrive promptly at 8:00 PM prepared for an evening of polite Southern conversation. They should be excellent dancers, as they will be the escorts of lovely refined young ladies. One last point: "No Jews please." Sending a written message by his own yeoman, the captain replied: "Madam, thank you for your invitation. In order to present the widest possible knowledge base for polite conversation, I am sending four of my best and most prized officers." "One is a lieutenant commander, and a graduate of Annapolis with an additional Masters degree from MIT in fluid technologies and ship design." "The second is a Lieutenant, one of our helicopter pilots, and a graduate of Northwestern University in Chicago , with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering. His Masters Degree and PhD. In Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering are from Texas Tech University and he is also an astronaut candidate." "The third officer is also a lieutenant, with degrees in both computer systems and information technology from SMU and he is awaiting notification on his Doctoral Dissertation from Cal Tech." "Finally, the fourth officer, also a lieutenant commander, is our ship's surgeon, with an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina . We are very proud of him, as he is also a senior Fellow in Trauma Surgery at Bethesda ." Upon receiving this letter, Melinda's mother was quite excited and looked forward to Thursday with pleasure. Her daughter would be escorted by four handsome naval officers without peer (and the other women in her social circle would be insanely jealous). At precisely 8:00 PM on Thursday, Melinda's mother heard a polite rap at the door which she opened to find, in full dress uniform, four very handsome, smiling Black officers. Her mouth fell open, but pulling herself together, she stammered, "There must be some mistake." "No, Madam," said the first officer. "Captain Goldberg never makes mistakes."
  7. Sorry, I entirely disagree. Far too much pertinent information left out. The first video is WAY TOO OLD to be believed at all. Much political spin. "After all, somebody has to pay for it."
  8. Someone made this statement a long time ago on this site while discussing fees... "If I double my rates, loose 50% of my clients, I earn the same amount of money doing half as much work." There is a VERY SOLID business principal in that statement. I have SERIOUSLY considered this course of action. The ones that would stay, appreciate my professionalism.
  9. So what recourse do they have? All things are explained in great detail in the user agreement. No guarantees of privacy. How can someone, with no money involved, protest about what a FREE website does with information they willingly post on the site? Missing the logic here....
  10. I marvel at how many users of the FREE site FaceBook complain about how it is run. This is America. If you don't like the way that a website given to you FREE is being run, LEAVE!!! I see lots of posts where FaceBook changes a game, or some format and people line up to threaten leaving.....
  11. Catherine "gets" it. Taxed has yet to.
  12. Do you seriously need my post explained to you??
  13. I think that a protest against the proposed changes at FaceBook should be a grassroots protest starting with the following actions: 1. Immediately write a letter to FaceBook and demand an instant refund of all subscriptions fees and charges paid for using their social media site. 2. After you accomplish #1, slide back to your room and be quiet.
  14. They must not be too concerned about who accesses the board. A REAL tech for such a board would track users by I.P. address and you would not have been allowed if originally blocked.
  15. I have not, and will not log into the official forum. This is my choice based on the totally client unfriendly act of them closing the forum in early April. I have told everyone I have spoken to this year at CCH the very same words. It is still the same corporate mindset there and unless something major changes in CCH, it won't change.
  16. They are too busy rebuilding the software. It is an embarrassment to them about last year, so watch for some very customer appeasing attitudes.
  17. We will have both, if we decide to try ATX for 2013. Can't take the chance. I just spent 40 minutes on the phone with a new (3 1/2 months) design manager for 2013. After some in-depth technical discussion, my hopefulness is increased. Still waiting to see what happens when "the rubber meets the road" in the beta testing.
  18. I don't believe I can give you complete answers because of non-disclosure restrictions. The total working program cannot be released until much later in the year. We will be testing the changes already made to the very engine of the program. There will be three testing phases. Stay tuned. Once I have completed my beta testing with all the communications needed, I will post my recommendations.
  19. There have been many changes in the IT dept. since May. I have spoken with 3 different heads of departments concerning this. In fact, 5 different e-mail communications with them today already. The development leadership has been changed as well. I have spoken to the new director of development. They seem to be completely and honestly sincere about making the software work for 2013. You can still paint me skeptical, but I am onboard to help with the process. I don't know about the responsibility and accountability question. I have spoken the words "If 2013 doesn't work, you won't be around for 2014" and received acknowledgment that they are keenly aware of that. 2013 is "do or die" for the CCH SFS group.
  20. Be patient and DO NOT give them one red cent till we have had the chance to see if the software will work. Trust me, I have already been in communication with them about the upcoming preview (beta) tests of the software. Stand by.
  21. In the next three weeks I will discover, first person live, if CCH has learned any lessons or not. Stay tuned...
  22. Giving your spouse a signal and have her/him ring the doorbell works too!!! I just had an epiphany!! My doorbell is wireless. I get another button and mount it under my desk!! No need for spouse to ring the bell!!!
  23. I hope you have billed your client(s) for all your time in this mess??
  24. We are all starting at the same time.
  25. I only give very general tax advice or information for free. PERIOD. Leeches do not ever lose their apatite. Stop being the "nice gal" and expect to get paid for the skills, knowledge and experience you have.
