  1. I am missing something here.... The number of users with MAX has been 3 for at least 10 years. What is different now? You could always add additional single users and there was unlimited user pack available. I fail to see the difference?
  2. There must be other things in your network or on your computer going on. My computer at home has so many different programs that I use and on any given day I will have 6-8 of them running in addition to ATX. I have a peer to peer configuration at home with 4 computers using the program. At the firm, 10 workstations, domain server/workstation. Neither here or at the firm, we have not experienced anything like this since the "can't talk about it anymore" 2012 debacle. Something else is going on in your system.
  3. "Please send me the charge statement from the bank for the stop payment charge, including the check number and the date it was written. I will refund you that charge." See how THAT goes up her ...... ...... nose....
  4. The whole thread should be removed, since the OP was based on NOW KNOWN to be inaccurate information.
  5. Monitor it to see if it has changed it. I have a "fix" utility that was run on my server. I know I saved it, but can't seem to locate it. Are you using a domain server or peer to peer?
  6. That should be once a day or once a week since it is last year. Ask for a higher grade technician. There is a place to change that. I just don't remember where it is.
  7. DITTO!! Do not try to fix it yourself!!
  8. There are other vendors...
  9. This is the current model for ATX MAX. Post your source or ask the admin to remove the thread.
  10. Where is all this information coming from? Please post the CCH source or stop spreading unfounded rumors.
  11. Fed Ex. Pm me for my address....
  12. The next time I hear this....
  13. Two things I have learned: 1. The election of 2012 granted me 15 years of job security. 2. The reason for the job security stinks to high heaven.
  14. Delete the e-file info pages. Reinstall them, put today's date on them.
  15. Watch for a larger than normal price increase for 2015 ATX.
  16. FAM Sunset Notice The ATX™ product team is continually evaluating our integrated solution to ensure that our efforts are focused on the features and functionality that our customers value most. After very careful consideration, we have decided to make an important change in our current offering of asset management technology. Beginning April 1, 2015, CCH Small Firm Services will no longer offer a separate product for fixed asset management. The present Fixed Asset Manager (FAM) is a separate application that is installed independently from ATX for the purpose of handling multi-year depreciation of fixed assets. Our research indicates that the majority of our customers are primarily concerned about the annualized tax implications of fixed assets. We are responding to that need by integrating the most popular FAM module features into the existing enhanced asset entry capabilities of ATX professional tax software. Improved Enhanced Asset Management Functionality will now be available to ATX users. Along with the expanded ATX asset management capabilities available to current FAM users, these popular features will also be available: Ability to edit groups and locations Maximum Section 179 deductions for multiples Duplicate assets Multiple asset accounts Pre-formatted and customizable reporting As a special offer for current FAM customers, a first year discounted price of $179 is available when you purchase these enhanced asset capabilities along with your ATX renewal. The independent Fixed Asset Manager solution will no longer be offered for new sales or renewals. However, you may be assured that we will continue to fully support FAM throughout the remainder of the license period. As always, we appreciate the opportunity to provide you with professional tax preparation technology that meets your business needs. We believe that these changes will enhance the value of ATX and look forward to continuing to serve your needs for the coming year. Of course, we also appreciate your feedback and invite you to let us know how we can improve the new asset management capabilities in future versions of ATX.
  17. Took me 30 seconds to make that call after I read the OP.
  18. It is a Windows trait.
  19. Nope. Repair. Way too much over thinking going on here!! Natural sense (used to be called common sense, but it is no longer common) seems to disappear when the 3115 "monster" gets in someone's brain. So in the vein of thought taking #1 & #2, any oil change, tires, battery, belts, hoses, fluid change, brakes etc should be amortized? Those all restore to original operating state, and all extend it's useful life. I am growing weary of how preparers are losing their minds about the new repair regs.
  20. The rear differential of a truck is NOT a separate unit by any standard. Repairs. All of it. I think the 3115 fear has intoxicated people's brains!! Nit picking OCD overload here!! I was an ASE Certified Master Auto/Truck technician for 30 years before taking on tax preparation full time. No one that has ever actually been in the industry would ever consider this NOT a repair. REPAIR and MAINTENANCE!! Nothing else. Another thought, opinions by another accountant or agency have no bearing on the actual regs. I stand by my position.
