You may file Forms W-2 and W-3 electronically on the SSA’s website at Employer Reporting Instructions & Information. You can create fill-in versions of Forms W-2 and W-3 for filing with SSA. You may also print out copies for filing with state or local governments, distribution to your employees, and for your records. Just go there and create the replacement form and print it. I used Cross Link YEARS AGO, but they did not at that time offer business returns, or my state, so I could not stay with them. I think it was the first year of efile, and they helped me set up as a direct filer. AR at that point did not have efile so I was doing those by hand. But I did like the company, their support was excellent, and their software was easy to use. I think they would be worth checking out, at least..

And did you double check that there was no typo on the SSN on the K-1 or the EIN? If that is OK try going to Return menu and down to Update Forms.

I ALWAYS report them, JB, because it is by filing and claiming the 212 exception that you protect the client. I don't think that exception is automatic, you should always do the Sch D and claim it.
