Almost certainly there is a box unchecked that should be checked, or vice versa. double check ALL the dates, that is the most likely cause.

I stand corrected. I think Judy has it right, and while some of the cost may be " to authorize treatment for mental illness", only that portion would be medical.. The rest would be "for protection of income and assets", thus deductible but subject to the 2% haircut.

Good a description as I can think of. As for the Service, how about "appreciation" ?

SWAG = Scientific Wild A$$ Guess SWIG = What we all need on April 16th. [May need it now, but not a good idea yet] -
I love a sharp Vermont white cheddar, but also love feta [fantastic in an omelet, BTW], Swiss on ham, Gouda, Roquefort with an apple, oh good grief, there is just NO WAY I could choose just one, or even two or three or............

If you see William, tell him we sure miss him too. And do post a picture of the girls. Last one I have they were just a toddler and a new baby. I'd love to see how they've grown.

The mental image is amazing.........................................

They actually had the money in 2012, so I do not see any way to remove it as income for 2013. The refund will need to be shown next year. As an adjustment to the sale, I'd assume.

Yes, this is a Community in a very real sense, and we want to keep it that way. Of course, everyone gets a bit 'on edge' this time of year.. Too much caffeine, too little sleep, too many procrastinating clients trying to put their problems on us.......... We just need to remember we are all friends here, trying to help each other. And that the ATX employees we have contact with are just trying to do their jobs. They are not the ones making corporate decisions.

We just need to remember we are all friends here, trying to help each other. And take this last stretch with as much a sense of humor as possible.

Hey, Kerry, we've missed hearing from you. Glad to know you are still around. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Just proves how wonderfully efficient our government agency's are doesn't it?

That's the sort of thing they pay you for. And well worth whatever you charge for the time.

I agree with Jack.

What do you say when an ATX sales rep calls you to renew early?

"And the discount is how much?" "Are you kidding?" -
Yes, based on facts provided, child is a qualified dependent.

Given the delays from brokerage houses, K1's etc, I'd expect a significant increase in extensions to be normal. It makes no sense for you to half kill yourself to try to keep to normal progress this year.

Sad,, but these days you can not assume that.

FloridaTaxMan, I think you need to calm down, A LOT. And please drop the Caps and bold, for an entire post. Sure, it's fine for occasional emphases, but when you use them for entire posts, it is 'shouting', and really just plain bad manners. Please, we do not need personal attacks here. If you continue, you will be banned. I don't want to do that.

Ray, call the efile help desk, and MAYBE they can stop the wrong address before the check is mailed. It's sure worth a try.

And anyone with a client who is a recent widow or widower should remind them that they need to contact SSA to see about adjusting their benefits as a result of their spouses death.

JJ, you should check it yourself, so that you can scan the list for names you know. Seriously. All states have such lists, check your Sec of State's website to find it.

You know, someone last year made a crack about the dog and also the bunny that hopped us to the worksheet but to be serious about that, I think it reflected not only a sense of humor by the programmers but also a sense of involment and commitment to the program. And after CCH bought it, and soon got rid of most if not all of the old ATX team that feeling is gone. And the software has suffered from that loss.
