  1. Did anyone else catch the fact that KC is a GATOR?
  2. KC, Before sending in the suggestion I wanted to be sure I was not missing a feature in the program. Thanks

    IRS acceptance time

KC, Perhaps I jumped the gun as this was my first e-file and the date was listed with time 12.00.00PM. Did not expect the true time to be 12.00.00PM so posted the question. Will wait for my next e-file to see.
  4. First Direct Deposit is scheduled for tomorrow, first check is scheduled to be mailed Feb 5.
  5. Changes to the master form will only apply to new returns or newly rolled over returns.
  6. I do a lot of retiree tax returns here in Florida. Most do not itemize and take the standard deduction. Is there any way to automatically add the new schedule L to each tax return when it is opened like the W-2?
  7. Is there any way to determine the time that a tax return was accepted by the IRS? Sure we can see the date but really would like to have the time.

    Casualty Loss

Since the client lived in a rental apartment his loss is a personal loss subject to the $500 deduction and then 10% of AGI deduction.
  9. I do not have vista but have you tried running the ATX program in XP emulation? Maybe that will allow the XP print drivers to work.
  10. has not set their status

  11. Just remember that Mark Ernst, the Deputy Commissioner, was at one time CEO of H&R Block
  12. GeneinAlabama, "I agree that there are a lot of preparers that should not be in business and the public would be much better off without them" My only concern is that these preparers will just not sign the return and enter "Self Prepared" I am a member of NSTP and their approach with the IRS was for the IRS to have a massive education of the public that if they paid someone to prepare their return it is unlawful for them to sign the return without the preparers signature.
  13. Today I received an e-mail from a company called EfileMyForms.com that allows allows you to e-file and print all your 1098, 1098-T, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-A, 1099-B, 1099-C, 1099-OID, 1099-LTC, 1099-MISC, 1099-R, 1099-S, 5498, W-2, W-2G and 1042-S forms online. You might check them out before upgrading to Max. I know nothing else about this company but the website is informative.
  14. Off the top of my head I would consider $2.00 per worksheet. Not all worksheets would be selected to be included, just the ones that substantially change the results on the form.
  15. The added feature this year is that we can now bill by worksheet in addition to by form. Following the instructions it appears that it is necessary to do the pricing on an individual basis for each return rather than globally as is done for the by form pricing. On the billing options tab you select the by worksheet and then on the worksheet tab near the bottom you select the form (1040) and the list of worksheets is shown. It is necessary to select the worksheets you want to add to the bill and then enter the price. I tried to somehow add a fee for all worksheets but was unsuccessful. On the customize master forms, it appears that it is only possible to modify the billing form. I realize that it is necessary to select the worksheet to include in the bill but it would be nice to somehow preprice all the the worksheets.

After all this controversy, can I now withdraw my first post?

    The Tax Book

The UPS man just delivered my copy of the Tax Book. Guess I should start thinking about 2009 taxes.
  19. I think this is just ATX confirming to you and TRX that they have met their obligation and to alert you if you did not receive the software.
  20. When we were first married we lived in Port Angeles Washington, about 50 miles west of Seattle. In the summer time we got a very snowy picture when we aimed the antenna east toward Seattle. In the winter time we got an excellent picture by aiming the antenna south.
  21. Linda, In ATX on Sch D entry there is a code for personal loss. Enter the actual sales price and cost and select the personal loss code. The result will be 0.
  22. Doug, Since I am a client of yours, you have my address and email. Let me know when you develop the module and I will review it.
  23. I totally agree! I have evaluated your in house program in the last two weeks so that I can make a decision after April 15 as to stay with TRX (I was one who signed up for the ATX program which I received this week). I guess I am too old to think other than how I did tax returns manually to not want to use a forms oriented program. I know where things are supposed to go on the tax return and like to be able to go to each line and input the appropriate data then proceed to the next entry. As it stands now, with the TRX program being menu driven I will be returning to ATX for 2010 returns.
  24. You do not use any install codes with the archive disk just hit enter.
  25. When I installed the archive CD it asked for the install codes Did you enter the install codes? This is an update so you would just press enter to proceed.
