  1. Isn't this great. You're right, they are ahead of last year. Booger

  3. You Mass people should call 1-800-ASK-POPE. Booger
  4. Cyn, this question seems to come up every year. Under MyATX, go to knowledge base. Do a search there and you should find the answer. Booger
  5. I think just PRINTING and MAILING the 1099's is alot easier, if the quantity of 1099's allows you to do so. Booger
  6. Roy, I guess I DO HAVE one more comment on this issue. First, I looked at the site you referred MJG CPA to. Gee, it would be NICE to have the time to theorize about Section 179's applicability to rental property, but you know as well as I do that client's complain too much already about our fees....and I'm not about to waste my personal time doing $$$ worth of research when the savings to the client are less. The real world tells us that if it takes $100 to save $50, you don't do it. Booger, CPA
  7. NO. They call me "MR. BOOGER" Booger
  8. Roy, I called the POPE at 1-800-ASK-POPE. He said that if I called him again, He would have me excommunicated. Funny, I'm not even Catholic. Booger
  9. I am SO HAPPY that this return is now available. (I have HAPPY FEET). Booger
  10. A. Didn't manufacture/produce the property; AND B. The term of the lease(s) was MORE than 50% of the property's class life. I'm DONE with this topic. Booger
  11. My wife told me that I will get it when I get home (hope she meant the book!!). Booger
  12. How about "Did I leave the stove on?" Booger
  13. JB, what I enjoy is the Hula Dancer that pops up on my screen while I'm waiting for the Returns to print. Booger
  14. "These requirements will NOT be met if the lessor holds the property for lease" Therfore, (Unfortunately) the IRS was correct. Booger
  15. NO THANKS, I already handled it. Booger
  16. Thanks, Sue. I own a Steel Service Center in Columbus (my "real job"), and we used to purchase steel from Northwestern. Hope your husband was able to find new employment. Booger
  17. RoydaleOne, Client who rents personal property as an active business activity was denied Section 179 treatment by the IRS on the equipment purchased for rent to third parties. Couldn't get the IRS to budge on this point. Booger
  18. JB, tell Lenny that there is a new invention out there....................it's called SOAP. Booger
  19. Sue, I cannot answer YOUR question, but I have one for you. Wasn't Northwestern Steel & Wire located in Sterling? If so, did they close the business or were they bought out by someone else? Booger
  20. MJG, I believe that if it's RENTAL property, NOTHING qualifies for Section 179. Booger
  21. Tom, Why? They can get PEOPLE. Booger
  22. Seriously, Chrisby, I would report the wife's amount on a Scedule F for her, then "nominee" it over to her husband's Schedule F. The IRS will be looking for her amount reported under her SS number; this would be a way to show it under her SS number (Sorry for my BAD JOKE). Booger
  23. I "plow" into the clients info, then I "harvest" the numbers that I need to prepare the return. "Combining" all this together is how I prepare a farmer's tax return. Booger
  24. I'd like to help you, but I don't know how to type the number in Pakastani. Booger
  25. I saw Lenny give it to Crazy Mary. Booger
