  1. There's a tax prep business around central Ohio called "LIberty Tax Service". They have some FOOL standing outside their storefront wearing a Statue of Liberty outfit (NO I HAVE NOT BEEN DRINKING). Is this company in other areas of the country, or is it just here? I was thinking of driving by a hurling a few eggs at "Miss Liberty", but I'm too busy right now to go to court. Booger
  2. WOW, that's some last name!! Booger
  3. Elrod, my neighbor won't talk to me because I wouldn't list their dog as a dependent on their tax return. Think they went to HR...........where they can get PEOPLE. Booger
  4. AnnieR, I've had to do the same thing. The reduction of the pension income for the amount of the SS taken out of Ohio Taxable Income does not make sense, since Ohio taxes the pension income. I've had to override this many times already this tax season. Booger

    Name control ?

I had one with a hyphenated last name of "Beelzebub-Jehosaphat" I abbreviated it Beelze-Jehos.......it worked. Booger
  6. I just can't seem to unlock my front door. Called ATX Support and was on hold for 45 minutes listening to some GOD AWFUL music. Does anybody have any suggestions? WHERE'S WILLIAM WHEN YOU NEED HIM?????????????? Booger
  7. PS Maybe it was ignorance of the rules, and not fraud, that caused the preparer to do what she did. Booger
  8. Eli, when I e-filed my personal return, I obviously left the paid preparer info blank on the 1040. By doing this, I only showed up as the ERO. Booger
  9. I don't know if you're REQUIRED to report her, but if you can get her name and social security number, you could write the IRS a letter explaining the situation. I don't know what the specific address for the IRS would be, but I'm sure they would tell you. Booger
  10. BRING BACK THE PAKASTANIS!!! Booger
  11. Bart, that's WILD......never heard of anything like that before. Booger
  12. Gene, sounds like I was in the same boat as you (my son was 11 at the time).............I think (HOPE) he understood why I couldn't spend as much time with him as I should have. The song "Cats In The Cradle" always comes to mind when I think about it. Booger
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YOUNG MAN Booger
  14. Hey, see my reply at bottom of this thread. Booger
  15. If I can add my two cents. Was Mel a part owner of ATX when it was sold to CCH? If so, then that explains him being in Hawaii, where he can spend all that $$$$$ he received from CCH. Also, if he WAS a part owner, then WHY should he care about what happens to the current users of ATX? To be honest, I WOULDN'T. I'd be too busy counting my money. Booger
  16. Nena, the non-compete agreement gets reported on Form 4797, (I believe page 1, Part II). The "ordinary" gain from this agreement should flow directly to your client's 1040. It should show up on the line where it says income (loss) Form 4797 (don't know line number). Hope this helps. Booger
  17. JB, I remember a Simpson's episode where Homer buys a hotdog at the QuickyMart. He drops it and it rolls under a shelving unit. He picks it up (has hair, paper and other goop) stuck all over it. Homer eats it. The next thing you see is an ambulance with Homer in it racing to the ER. Booger
  18. Roy, isn't there also a Form that needs to be attached to the buyer's and seller's return that shows what assets were purchased/sold and allocation of the purchase/sales price? For the life of me I cannot remember the form number. Booger
  19. Hope you scraped the dog hair and dust bunnies off of it before you ate it. Booger
