  1. I think many of them ARE curdled. :(
  2. And, the amount of precious metals in the medals is very small this year, so the cash value is very small this year. So, not much to add to the $10-25,000 cash compensation -- IF it has to be added in. Does the IOC send 1099-MISCs? I know, if I have an Olympic champion I need to ask them what they received. Just wondering if it's anything that's been explained to the Olympians with all the time, travel, stress, etc., running up to the games.
  3. OP said he subscribes to IntelliConnect, so I provided him the link. Others should check their own research materials for something similar if they have the same need. (Or, if their research materials are not as thorough, they might want to check out IntelliConnect and other research options at http://www.cchgroup.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category_Research-Solutions_10151_-1_10053_50005703 )
  4. Today's CCH State Tax Review email, part of my IntelliConnect subscription, includes All States-Income Tax: Chart on States' Treatment of Regular and Bonus Depreciation Under IRC Sec 167 and IRC Sec. 168 Provided http://intelliconnect.cch.com/document-service-webapp/scion/documents/atlas-doc-attach/attachment.PDF?src=file:///apps/WEBS/docs/attach/WKUS-TAL-DOCS-PHC/44/State Regular and Bonus Depreciation chart.pdf&documentTitle=State Regular and Bonus Depreciation chart.PDF
  5. Exactly. Right now you're subject to the non-EA requirements of a professional tax preparer. If you pass the EA exam, then the EA requirements begin. But, you never have to pass the EA exam. You do need to pass AN exam by the deadline.
  6. After you pass the EA exam, your CE requirements change to those of an EA, 72 per 3-year cycle, etc. You can take the EA exam without taking/passing the RTRP exam. However, you have to pass one of those by 31 December 2013. So, you can decide what to study for next. Good luck!
  7. Sounds like you're official now!
  8. I have the group plan through NAEA.
  9. Celebrate!
  10. If you use e-Services to enter a POA, it's immediate. Or, call then fax to them directly while they're on the line to pick it up from their fax machine.
  11. OK, that settles it. I am NOT retiring to CA!
  12. Congratulations!
  13. When I was at Block, they suggested we look at cash flow. If cash flow is positive and the tax loss occurs due to depreciation, we could count on Block sending a good EA to the audit and, if necessary, paying out under their POM guarantee. Unless the client failed to report all rental income or couldn't document all expenses.
  14. Congratulations!
  15. You are special. As are we all on this board !! But, you should celebrate your shiny new certificate and then frame it for your clients to see.
  16. Congratulations!
  17. lol
  18. Congratulations!
  19. I know. Don't you just want to pull out a twenty sometimes and hand it to them to forget about some obscure deduction that'll save them only $12 or so?!
  20. Congratulations, Jack!
  21. Good luck!
  22. Congratulations! :D
  23. Thanx, KC, I needed that !!
  24. Good luck!
