  1. I had serious issues with 2012 ATX - you have all heard them. somehow Jack and I emailed and he offered to come all the way up from Ohio to Northern WI to fine-tune my computers and the ATX program. We worked out payment - I paid for airflight - my husband hemmed and hawed and it went up $100 or so in the meantime! I had a voucher at the Holiday Inn from a benefit and the car rental was insignificant and I paid way too little for his help that day! My office manager and I learned a ton and he really cleaned up the system, etc. A great learning experience and I did not have to bring my IT in, brought in someone who knew ATX instead. If you have any issues - I highly recommend Jack. Even my husband came around as Jack's knowledge of computers as well as ATX is superb. Plus we had a great dinner and then he got to see the great Northwoods! God's Country

  2. Chapter two: Because Jack's flight home got cancelled due to weather; I got to spend a day and a half with him after he left WITAXLADY. I am about thirty miles away from her and close to the airport. We had planned on visiting for a few hours before he had to fly out. Instead, he was grounded. He then spent half a day in my office just talking and fine tuning. The following day, my husband and I took him on a tour of the Northern half of the state. We were both extremely impressed with Jack's knowledge, professionalism and downright great personality. We got to enjoy two meals with him before getting him back to the airport for his (again delayed) flight. However, he did have to enjoy the airport for a while, but eventually got home all right. The moral of the story is; if you have a question about ATX, ask Jack. Don't intimidate him, but trust him. I didn't have serious issues such as DE experienced, but I can recognize intelligence when I see it; and Jack has done, and will do, more for the users of ATX than you can imagine. I have been in touch with him throughout the beta testing and going forward. Jack never fails to return a PM. Thanks, Guy!!

  6. When we adopted our Annie, the Calico Cat, she was already marked down to sale price of $75. When I first saw her, she was $100. You all know where she was headed. Six years later, she is the most arrogant, spoiled and sophisticated cat we have ever had. She needed us and we needed her. We wouldn't take a million bucks for her now. She can be a "real baby" when she wants something. End of story. I would never have even considered deducting the adoption fee.; nor should you.

  7. OH CRAP, Did you really have to go over the top like that? He will be impossible to live with on this board now..... Actually, this is a great story, and a testiment to the relationships that can be made. Kudos to Jack. Tom Hollister, CA

  8. Mashburn I think you need to be a little more patient and wait the 45 days for your efin. Explain the situation to your clients I'm quite sure most of them would understand. Chock it up as a lesson learned for putting your paperwork in at the last minute.

  9. ATX for taxes, 1099's, W-2's unless it doesn't live up to it's guarentees, QB for those who insist on it , Quicken for all new small businesses and any I can convert from QB to Quicken - who needs QB?, Medlin for payroll accounts. Drake I believe will be the back-up if needed - sure hope not!

  10. I am going to have to ask her if she took any training. She wanted to write off Victoria's Secret and I told her that is out, but that her "stripper heels" should be OK. She won't be able to take mileage, because it is all commuting to the club. Thanks!

  11. I have received my computer back from the IT professionals and they were able to recover all of my files intact as far as I can see. I am currently backing up and migrating all of the vital files to the NEW computer. The problems were: • found boot files were damaged and fixed them. • fixed boot directory, cleaned up Temp, registry, and startup files. Thanks to everyone for your help and this was a blessing.

  13. So my neighbor tore down his little house at the back of the property and built a McMansion at the front of the property outside our master bedroom. I actually had to buy a bathroom shade for the first time since 1978. Then the new owner put in that very same terawatt floodlight pointed at our bedroom window. If it weren't mounted so high, I'd relocate it to his letter box. Plus his barky dog is out all the time barking. Yes, even at 2:50 a.m. in 22 degree weather and snow. Maybe the dog warden would relocate the dog AND the floodlight.

  14. Currently, the development team is TOTALLY AWARE (partly due to Tom and I) of the problem. I was on the phone 3 1/2 hours testing a workaround. The problem will be corrected very soon in a program update. If anyone has hard drive space issues, I have a temporary fix I can assist you with. Far too complex to list on here, but if anyone has this issue, send me a PM and I will gladly help get you back to normal. I have tested this fix on the server at my firm, and my computer here at home. I can assure you it will work.
