  1. I finished the last one that I was able to Tuesday night and I am now relaxing on the beach down by Clearwater. I still have several to do when I get back. I about killed myself and was up for 40 hours working on everything, packing for us and traveling. I slept great last night. We've never been down here before and my son is really enjoying it. Bonnie
  2. Taxbilly, Someone (I can't remember who) on this board and a couple of others said that they received a 30% discount offer to resign with ATX within the past couple of weeks. Also, CCH took back the earlier discounted TRX packages and is handling the support for the discounted price. I just feel like those of us who signed up in May should receive the same treatment. Bonnie
  3. David, I just went through a couple of these. I don't believe that it will handle the sale for different types of property just through the bulk sale tab. I had to allocate the purchase price to each type of asset (land, depreciable, etc), because they are taxed differently. Maybe someone smarter than me knows another way to handle it. It does work well if you put all of the furniture as one bulk sale, etc. Bonnie
  4. I am really angry that I signed up early and didn't jump ship to TRX or wait until now to sign up. I only got the 10% discount and now they are giving away 40 and 30% discounts. Next year I won't sign up early and even if they don't beg me to sign up again, at least I won't feel like such a moron. I love the software, but I really feel that they should treat their current customers a lot better. Bonnie
  5. I received it also. I'm sure that the IRS is giving out e-mail addresses. NOT! I just deleted it. Bonnie
  6. I'm trying to use it now. I loved it yesterday when I used it, but today I can't get logged in. They even E-mailed the same password that I have been trying and it still says that my subscription is not valid. This is really annoying. Bonnie
  7. Never mind. I logged back in and it was there. Bonnie
  8. I had a March 16 deadlin this year to possibly go on extension and March 30 to definitely go on extension. Next year it will be March 15 only. I know that I lost a few clients last year with the deadline, but I didn't miss them. I'm getting too old for the lack of sleep and I would like to enjoy my son before he graduates. Bonnie
  9. I can't believe that they can't wait until after Oct. 15. I am leaving for Florida on the 14th, so I really need to start pushing my clients to get their returns in so I can get them accepted before I go or they are mailing them. I started calling them last week, but so far only one has managed to get their act together. Bonnie
  10. Karen, I am so happy for your family that she made it through this experience. She is definitely a miracle.
  11. KC, I know what Deb meant. It was showing up in the VMS forum a couple of days ago. Bonnie
  12. Thanks, Tom. I set up four different reminder dates in my calendar to keep on top of this in case the IRS doesn't rescind the deficiency. I've been lucky because I haven't had to do this for a client in 30 years. Bonnie
  13. Thanks, KC. I will keep an eye on the calendar and hope that the IRS doesn't drag their feet. Bonnie
  14. I'm just checking on the proper response. I received Notices of Deficiency today for 2004-2006 as a POA for my clients. They had not filed any returns since 2003 for various reasons, (including the wife had a stroke and they moved out of state and misplaced everything). The husband did send a response finally to the IRS on July 20 and I received the last W2 today. I just finished everything through 2008. The IRS filed substitute returns with a total due of $50,000. They only owe $1,500. I called the office on the deficiency notice and asked about filing a tax court petition and she told me that I had 90 days to send in the actual returns and that the tax court petition was not necessary. Am I reading this wrong? It looks like the tax court petition should be filed and send the returns anyway. I have to overnight this to the client tomorrow to sign, but I want to make sure that we are not going to get nailed by not filing the petition. I just don't trust the oral advice from the IRS. Thanks! Bonnie
  15. It really ticked me off. I could have saved my money until later in the year, instead of paying in May. With my husband's illness, I could have to quit any time and go to work for someone for the benefits. I would have been happy to renew if they would have charged my card later on. I didn't get anything by renewing early except the rotten taste in my mouth that I was an idiot. I should have learned last year. Bonnie
  16. Thanks Billy, I should have just checked the IRS pub. I was trying to search and my words were too short.
  17. If the husband dies and has basis still left on his 8606, does it transfer to the spouse's 8606 if she is the beneficiary. All of his IRA's were rolled over to her. Thanks! Bonnie
  18. I am very sorry for your loss. Bonnie
  19. Steve, I knew that it didn't roll over, but none of the programs that I have ever used did roll over the state payment. I always have put it in myself. I hate to say it, but I do have clients that haven't paid their taxes in a timely fashion, or I may file three years of returns in one year and they might pay all of the taxes in one year. I always have to check the amount anyway so I don't really care. I don't want the estimated payments to automatically be added to the return until I put in the dates paid, because I have clients that forgot them or just didn't want to make them. Bonnie
  20. You can still E-file with the message. I get that message on all of my returns where I use another depreciation program. Bonnie
  21. If that is the case, it makes more sense that they could offer the packages at a lower price. I don't know what is going on, but I sure don't see any new postings since the one yesterday that was deleted. Bonnie
  22. Check out the threads down on the TRX community. They were supposed to be selling the same ATX software for very large discounts.
  23. Marilyn, I know that it's not good form to talk about TRX there, but I thought that they might have posted there, like they did on the TRX Community below that TRX is not a licensed reseller of ATX.
