  1. I think the 1099-int will generate a missing income notice if it is 10,000. You could explain at that time but probaly easier to amend the 1065. I assume IRS matches with the 1065 as well as 1040.
  2. any they don't give tax advise !!
  3. I have an estate return with an fiscal year. House sold thru estate and and in first year. I would like to do an fist and final return BUT the general judgment of final distribution from court was not filed until 4 months after year end. which was to pay the attorney and the pers rep fee. no money in estate just house. no proceeds from from house either just paid closing and mortgage off and attorney fees. Heirs received no money So am I stuck filing 2 returns first just showing house sale and second year showing attorney fees? or Do I even have to file the second year as no income? I know its close to the 15th and everyone is real busy but if I could get some help would be appreciated.
  4. I would amend before the 15th so they won't owe any interest. If they do get a refund check I would have them void the check and return it. If it is electonic deposit....hmmmm they will owe interest from when in bank until paid back.
  5. is there a limit on how small of refund before they will not mail out. Client has refund of 1.00 and just want to let them if they will receive it.
  6. What I am asking if I charge and not pay vendors directly would the requirement to file 1099 still be in place?
  7. just a thought.... I charge alot of my business expenses on my charge card and then pay it at the end of the month. So will I file a 1099 to Discover? I charge ATX, staples, lots of expense
  8. look at the tab at bottom of 1040 to see the tax calulation. it shows you a break down of what is taxed cg rate and what is at regualar rate

  10. Dear Client, I want to thank you for the TWO calls you left me telling me not to forget the new credit... I think it was a Sch M. My friend said I should tell you in case you didn't know about it. RIGHT because your friend may know more than me.!! I only do this for a living
  11. It's a joke. Jack Bauer is on the show 24 which this is the last year. He is a goverment agent who fights terror attacks in the U.S. which most of the time he finds out the attacks are from someone in our own government.
  12. this forum has good information but...... it also will make me smile and laugh at some of the answers and questions too.

I am having trouble with the refundable part of the credit. student 20. income 13,000 both parent alive. she lived on own not with parents. did have room mate but spilt expenses. not a full time student all year but some of year. I guess the part about parents being alive has me confused. and if not a full time student all year long does that make it non refundable? she is claiming herself.
  16. I didn't know there was an exception if lived apart
  17. what if the parents also have an account for the kids? I think she needs to tell the parents. She can't sign the return for them. she not a parent or guardian.
  18. then it would just be total sales times 10% to equal her commissions
  19. tech support answered back within an hour and said they would make the corrections but went on to tell me how to edit the letter to fix the problem in great details...... like I haven't already figured that out several years back. I always edit the client letter. But they did respond fast and tried to help
  20. anyone else notice on the CA Nonresident client letter it tells you to sign on page 2 but in fact the signature line is on page 3? I edit and change anyway but to have that wrong is a little goofy
