    PTIN

Did anyone besides me send in paper form with check? If so, have you heard anything back?
  2. Ah, but overloading the servers with a blizzard of form submittals is well-established.
  3. Every time I have come back to the forum in the past two days, this thread has shown up tagged with "new messages" -- but it keeps coming back to this one from joan. I'm adding this reply in the hopes that whatever loop it's gotten stuck in will un-stick now.
  4. I charge straight hourly, plus postage for those few clients who want me to mail stuff straight out for them.
  5. Shut the IRS down by flooding them with 1099's for every type of payment imaginable? Sounds like it may be possible. Jan 2012 looks to be interesting - unless Congress does the sensible thing and puts a stop to this nonsense before it starts.
  6. I use the Tenenz folders myself; I get the top-staple ones. The first couple of years it was a bit of a topological exercise every year to re-remember how to staple in the pages so they come out correctly once all the folding is done - but now I have it down. I really like them. If you're looking for customized folders with lots of options, I got a solicitation from Binding Systems of America. They'll make them with any spec you want; paper color, weight, style, texture, embossed, personalized, staple top, clip top -- you name it, they have it. And you pay for it. The pricing was more than Tenenz and the minimum order was _large_ (500, if memory serves). The Tenenz folders you can buy in packs of 50. I also once used plain old double-pocket folders from the office supply places. Gave that up one year when I couldn't find solid color packs; just variety packs, and I thought that looked a little cutesy rather than professional. But they worked well.

    EA TEST

Sorry; I took the test in 2003. Since I passed, I don't feel the need to take it again. Hope you get some answers!
  8. Hi folks -- Anyone out here use any of the e-book readers, like Kindle, Nook, BeBook or others? If so, what do you like/dislike about a) the reader, the availability of books for the reader, c) the price for those e-books. Thanks, Catherine
  9. I lust after the iPhone, but my husband doesn't want to switch to AT&T. And despite how much I like it, the data plan cost didn't sit well (I'm rather tight-fisted). So I looked hard and long for a Verizon phone that didn't require an additional $30/month (per line!!) for the data plan. Got the last Palm-OS, no-data-plan-required phone Verizon sold, and I'm hanging on as long as I can with that one.
  10. Hope you have a VERY (and welcome back, taxbilly!)
  11. Forgot to reply to this earlier; I did exchange messages with KC on Facebook. She says hello to all and thanks for thinking of her. She's been a bit burned out and is just taking some time off to relax. She'll be back.
  12. Got my confirmation as well, but no disk yet. Interesting, as I got confirmation from them of the fixed asset manager program a week _after_ that disk arrived.
  13. Try the search box in the upper right hand. Be warned that you have to search for words at least 4 letters long. I believe you can also search at the member's page.
  14. Not these at least; she's been sending me stuff for my farm and those have to be sent on purpose. I'll let her know that folks miss her. Catherine
  15. And as much RAM as the machine will take.
  16. Well, here's something to set your hearts and minds at ease. True, KC has not posted here. However, she and I are "friends" on Facebook and while I haven't had any direct contact with her there lately, I just checked her page and it's full of postings of her doings in FarmVille and Cafe World and the other Facebook games. I think she's just taking some time off and puttering on anything NOT tax-related. She seems to be OK and I'm sure she still loves us. Catherine
