I also will not use IE for security reason, and have used Deepnet Explorer, and now Firefox, I had the notice a couple of times when I first used Firefox but it eventually went away. So hang in there it just might go away by itself. :unsure:

I tried the sample they sent with the tax package and found that if you have a lot of new clients it may save you a lot of time if you are a slow typist. Also if you get w2 forms and 1099 forms that are not the standard it may not work. You have to calculate the time taken to scan the form then to convert it to ATX, it may or may not work for you. I was going to get it but the cost is way too steep, it is a shame that you have to buy the ATX document manager with it. I have no use for document manager I have my own system of managing my documents on my hard drive. And the least favorite thing is it is only good for one year, you have to purchase it again next year. :angry:

Has anyone been able to access their MyAtx on the ATX website. I have been trying for a few hours now and keep getting an error. :blink:

Has anyone used a Brother 7020 printer / scanner? I need a scanner with a feeder and this 7020 has one. I have a HP scanner with a feeder but the feeder has broken down twice already in 2 years. and it is non repairable it costs $96.00 for a new feeder, so I would like to try another model. I don't want to spend a lot for it cause I don't do that many returns. Any comments will be appreciated. Thank you all

In the past some users have talked about the icons used by ATX. I have created icons for ATX for years 1995 tp 2010. These icons come in 3 different styles. one set has just ehe year as such 95. In the past the preparers who had old versions were allowed to copy them and sell or give them away. It may be advantages to make copies and leave you e-mail address for anyone who wants copies.

Can anyone tell me how do I get a next year depreciation schedule out of atx?

I used it for one client last year and it worked fine.

I received my final ATX 2006 CD, and along with it was an evaluation copy of Scan&fill and document manager. I loaded both into my computer, and have been trying Scan and Fill. I don't know where it will save time, there are a lot of steps to get 1 document scanned. Also I can't get it to show up in ATX . It is too early to call ATX now but I will be calling them to see what is wrong. I can see where this would be good if you have 3 or more w2 or 1099 forms, that were not entered in last year. I had inquired about this earlier with ATX and found out the price of this package is only good for 1 year. Its a hefty price for a 1 year deal. I only do about 100 returns. Also all it does at this time is W2's and 1099's, and only specific ones.

What would you be using document manager for? I run a paperless office and scan all documents in. I set up a CLIENT folder, and in this folder I have a sub folder withe the client name as the folder name. In this folder I use the YEAR (2006) as a sub folder, and scan all the documents in to this folder. I also print a PDF form from the tax return when complete into this folder. It works very well form me. You will need a huge hard dirve, I have a 85 GB and it works well.

I do abnout 100 1040's and 1 1065, and have looked at other programs. I have come to the conclusion that ATX MAX will come out just as cheap as getting a cheaper program and pay for all the E-Filing separate. Also I would have to get a program to do the 1065. Also I would have to get all my data converted and I know that all the data will not get converted, only the basic fields. Also I am used to ATX having used it for around 10 years. I imagine that if enough people resign with ATX that CCH would have to keep it going. As for the price all programs get more expensive every year.

I presume you will just have to wait a bit and have the one that sent in the payment check with the IRS to see if the payment went to the right account. If it did not have the other send in a payment of the same amount and it should be a wash. Good luck
