TaxWise must have an insider person at the IRS, I filed a 1040X last week in (TRX) TaxWise

I would take the larger items separately and put a FMV (in line with the purchase price of the lot) price on them and depreciate them and leave the rest as supplies.

What is wrong with it? What I don't like is the manager it should allow you to hide the completed returns.

After doing about 20 returns with TaxWise I think I am finally getting used to it. The conversion went fine, except for a few errors in bringing forward last years AGI (it seems that they are picking up line 22 instead of line 37) the rest seems all OK The forms they show on the screen are awful because of all the extra lines I don't understand why we should have to check a box if we don't have Puerto Rico income Having to enter the Bank routing number and the account numbers on both the info sheet and the 1040 is lousy. I have finally found out how to get rid of the red error line, by pressing F3, cause some of them are impossible to make it OK. U don't like the schedule A detail sheet. I do like the way to enter interest income and dividends, you don't have to enter all the bank info which is not needed anyway. I have done a couple of multiple states, and it works excellent. I don't care for their billing of an invoice, you have to go through the long list of forms every time. I love the speed when printing a return either to PDF or the printer. I love the speed when the program loads. Also an excellent feature is when you send an e-file or check for acks, you also get any updates automatically. Their reports are from the dark ages, Crystal Reports, I hated them when Peachtree started to use them to make your own reports. They could use a lot of updating. I have been receiving ACKS very fast even from the states. I hope they offer the program at the same price (299) next year. I loved ATX but can't afford it.

I also purchased TRX and got TaxWise. I converted from ATX and have not found any errors yet. Support recently has been excellent and only 10 to 15 min wait. The one thing I like about TaxWise is the printing of forms there is no wait like in ATX. Also multiple states works fine, I just did one with 3 states and no problems. I still like ATX entry on forms better than TaxWise. I also like the return manager in ATX. Taxwise is awful after using ATX for years.

I have a client who filed a return last year, only income was unemployment compensation of about $4200.00. She never received a stimulus payment, can she file a -0- taxable income return this year and get the credit this year. Also have one that has only SSI and didn't file a return last year, can she apply for it this year? I have been reading up on it and it seems that both should be able to do it, but TaxWise is not bringing it in on their worksheet. Before I call support I want to make sure they are eligible. I posted it in the TRX community of the forum, but not on their official forum cause I don't trust CCH. As you are well aware they are the ones that pulled the plug on ATX while I had 2 posts that I was waiting for some insight to.

Has anyone received the error code? I have a return that keeps getting this code and I can't find out why. This is not in ATX but TRX Taxwise. The person I spoke to in support was no help at all.

Completed my first 2 returns yesterday with only minor questions, of course they were both simple returns. E-filed them and both came back accepted fed and state. Had to make one call to support, and was on hold for only 10 min.

Dear TRX Member, As I am sure you are well aware we are experiencing several issues with TaxWise / CCH and I want to personally apologies for these issues. I want you to know I would have never stayed with TaxWise after they purchased Orrtax\Intellitax if I had any clue this is the way things would turn out. We have added a lot of phone lines but no matter how many we add they just fill up. Please bear with us we are working with CCH to fix all these issues. I for one was very skeptical about jTaxjWise and CCH,, when I went to TRX it was to get away from CCH. Go figure :(

If the printer allows it, you will have to print to PDF first and then the 2 sided feature will work. At least that is the way I have to do it with my HP printer, ATX will not for some unknown reason allow 2 sided printing.

You will all have to understand that TRX has a lot of new customers, and trying to understand jTaxWise Tax package is not easy. So the wait times for support will be long. Prior to the past 2 weeks I had good luck reaching support in no time. I also got good answers and very polite people. I have not had to call within the last 2 days cause I already know a lot about TaxWise having tried it in the past, so I am lucky. PS. I don't like the idea of their forum, CCH as you remember pulled the plug on us once, I won't let it happen again. I hope anyone with questions will come to this board. I know I will.

I am here every day to check for messages. I hope this works out as good as the ATX community works. I don't like what I see in TaxWise, but will have to get through the season. I was hoping that TaxWise users will find this forum and maybe help us newbies out.

Can't you print W2's and 199's from Peachtree. I havent used peachtree for a few years now but I always printed them from Peachtree

Not that I know of. What I did was print it to PDF factory and viewed it in Acrobat.

It is not Firefox, I have used it in the past and was told by tech support you don't need IE,

GOT MINE IN THE MAILS TODAY ALSO. WITH THE CD WAS A CH FOR THE CONVERSION FROM TRX TO TAXWISE, BUT I NEED ATX TO TAXWISE :rolleyes:

I received my FedEx package yesterday, which includes 2007 and 2008 TaxWise programs. Only problem is that they did not give me a registration code. The office for TRX is closed today (Saturday) :scratch_head:

Has anyone heard from Taxwise yet?
