Can they handle multiple states, and how was the conversion from ATX?

A single owner, sold proprietorship cna not pay himself wages. All income is on Schedule C and profit is SE wages. Did he pay in withholding taxes?

Can state extentions be e filed in ATX

For the last 2 to 3 weeks I have to type in my username and my password every time I log in. I checked the remember me but it dont work. What do I do. I have checked my browser and it says to allow cookies from atxcommunity.com. :scratch_head:

:scratch_head: IDIOT SIGHTING: We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, 'Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower.' I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said, 'NO, it's not. Four is larger than two…' We haven't used Sears repair since. IDIOT SIGHTING: My daughter and I went through the McDonald's take-out window and our total was $4.25. I gave the clerk a $5 bill and I also handed her a quarter. She said, 'You gave me too much money.' I said, 'Yes, I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill back.' She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request. I did so, and he handed me back the quarter, and said 'We're sorry but we can’t do that kind of thing.' The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1.75 in change. IDIOT SIGHTING: I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road. The reason: 'Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.' From Kingman, KS IDIOT SIGHTING: My daughter went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco. She asked the person behind the counter for 'minimal lettuce.' He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce. From Kansas City IDIOT SIGHTING: I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked, 'Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?' To which I replied, 'If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?' He smiled knowingly and nodded, 'That's why we ask.' Happened in Birmingham, AL IDIOT SIGHTING: The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it's safe to cross the street. I was crossing with an intellectually challenged coworker of mine. She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red. Appalled, she responded, 'What on earth are blind people doing driving?!' IDIOT SIGHTING: I work with an individual who plugged her power strip back into itself and for the sake of her life, could not understand why her system wouldn’t turn on. A deputy with the Dallas County Sheriffs office, no less. IDIOT SIGHTING: When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver’s side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. 'Hey,' I announced to the technician, 'its open!' His reply, 'I know. I already got that side.' This was at the Ford dealership in Canton, MS STAY ALERT! They walk among us... and the scary part is that they VOTE and, worse, they BREED!

You know a lot of us talked Mel into creating a new program, and I for one will not sign early with anyone until I give Mel a chance. One of my biggest gripes is the shipping fee, last year was $79.00 and all I got was 1 CD and a book that I don't need or want, and yes I will get a final CD sometime in November. I really like the board we have here and I believe that even if I go to a new tax package this board will be a lot of help. The ATX board if for ATX users only, which is not any good. There are other boards out there with I look at occasionally, but this one is the best. I only do about 75 returns and ATX is getting a little steep for me, especially if they increase the price this year. :spaz:

I just visited the new ATX board, and found out my login name had been changed without my knowledge, had to call ATX just to be able to log in. I noticed that KC had been there and left quite an interesting reply to their post announcing the return of the board. There was also 1 other message praising the return of the board.

How about if we post this web site as a referral page for help with ATX users.

I had a client come in and tell me that they are building a new home. They withdrew money from an IRA to pay some of the cost, and told me that they are considered as a 1st time home buyer. They had a previous home 3 or 4 years ago and was told by the bank and real estate people that they are considered a 1st time home buyer if they hadend owned a home for at least 2 years prior. I have a client who has a daughter in college. He pays for the tuition, but is not on his tax return as a dependent. His wifes ex claims her on his return. Can client get the education credit? If yes how do I enter it in MAX, when I check not to claim as dependent I cannot get the expense in. Thank you

Has anyone had problems with the schedule D with multiple stock sales. I have a return with 48 stock sales, and the totals are not coming out right. I have added them in a spreadsheet and the totals are way off in ATX :dunno:

This happened to me about 2 weeks ago and no one could figure out why it was wrong. I reported it to ATX but have never heard anything back. You will have to adjust it manually/

I disagree running 14 rentals is a business in itself. It is not easy.

Can we go back the last 2 years and scan in the signed 8879 and the W2's and 1099's and keep them on the computer? Or is it just starting this year?

Does anyone know what to do when you get a wrong zip code error? I just spoke to someonr at ATX Support and they never heard of this error, they wanted me to send them the file. I need this today and if I send it I wont get an answer till Christmas <_<

As the taxpayer is on a cash basis, I would report only 12 months rent. You can include a statement to the IRS showing the Walgreen's letter. Furthermore I believe that Walgreen's is incorrect reporting their accrual on a 1099, I wonder if they include their accrual on their W2 forms also
