  1. Export the letters from 2014 and import them into 2015. I haven't found a way to get all the states letters out of 2014 yet, but I did get my main state letters.

  2. It has gotten to where a lot if not most web sites including this forum uses light colored print which makes it very hard to read. Or is it just my eyes getting dimmer? Is there a purpose for this? Is this a problem for the rest of you, or am I the only one? Just wondering.

  3. Apparently, those on Medicare will receive a 1095-B. We just received one for my husband.

  4. I love it when customer service can answer a question! Sch A Within ATX (but not inside of a return) go to Return Manager – Forms – Customize Master Forms – Select Sch A – Open Forms – Jump to Linked Field on Line 5 – and enter the amount on Line 29/30 (Note that this has to be done on the server if you are running a server) Client Letter According to CS this is not an option

  5. OK. Now is the time to tell this TRUE story. My friend Wendy is a lawyer. She was in a huge pre-trial meeting. Lawyers everywhere, supposedly trying to settle something but actually involved in a p1$$ing contest. No women except for her. She got *totally* fed up with them, stood, and said, "I am going to leave this room for ten minutes. Whip 'em out, measure them, put 'em back. Then we'll settle this case." and walked out of the room. Ten minutes later she went back and a room full of very sheepish male lawyers settled the case. History does NOT record the results of their measurements - probably none of them had a tape measure, so it would have been only relative.

  6. Mike have you tried going to File>Option. and then on the General tab, in the Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office, change the Office theme to Dark Gray and office background to No background I tried some of the thing suggested in here http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/outlook2013whiteandbright.htm

  7. Yes, it's pretty easy to cusomize all kinds of reports. If you have converted the returns into the 2014 program, open that and do the following. (** You can also use the 2015 program that will search for the 2014 data by going through the process below, and I've indicated below the additional checkbox that is needed.) From the toolbar, select Reports, then Report Manager. Expand "My Reports" to save it there. Click "New Report". Radio button "Tax Return Data" checked. Give the report a name. Under the columns selection, leave it as the default "All Categories". Next selection is for the additional columns. The list is in alphabetical order. Scroll to select and add to the report the Taxpayer Last Name, taxpayer first name, (if you want also add Spouse last name, and spouse first name), then select and add Schedule C. You have the option to also select the Sch C total income and Sch C net income also, if you wish. At the bottom, click "Next" On the next screen under Filter selection, use the drop down box to select only "Clients with Schedule C". (** It's at this point, if you are using the 2015 program for a report of data in 2014 returns, that you would also check the box "use data from 2014). Click "Save" The program will return to the first Reports box that opened. At the bottom, click "View Report". It is also saved if you want to use it again.

  8. Ha, yes, it's the social security administration. I had lots of trouble with the accuwage download one year with IE and that's how I ended up using Firefox. I prepare so few W-2s that I'm considering not downloading the accuwage this year at all because the only error I've ever received was on my own W-2 submission: "employer name and employee name are the same...are you sure?"

  9. Something is wrong when a software vendor can't make their web-based software work in browsers that have the best standards compliance.

  10. Rita is correct. Don't feel like that, and please continue to ask questions because that is what the forum is here for. This is a new area of law for us with a lot of complexity, and of course we have many definitions of MAGI in the tax code depending on what limitation we are working with. It's very understandable what happened with your calcs.

  11. Don't feel like that! I have an insurance agent friend on FaceBook putting out completely incorrect information about ACA, the penalty, etc. Do you think I'm going to correct him?? Heck, no. Then I'll have eight million non-clients sending ME questions. He's the only one getting paid to understand this crap. I resent so much having to deal with this. Yes, I know, someone will say, "Charge accordingly". Well there's no way, in Small Town, TN, that I can charge enough to cover the time I spend on ACA without losing clients.
