Atx tax 2013 storage location may only be modified from server
Pacun replied to Tax130's topic in General Chat
I like how some people say "Did you read the instructions", now that the instructions don't work, they have changed their phrase. -
In the past, the only time I have seen this is when you move or manipulate (I guess manipulate means manually) the database. I wonder if anyone else is being asked for password when opening ATX2013.

Use Partition Magic to enlarge your C: -
DC is missing in Action. Please include it as Redskins Territory.

Eric, You are technically correct by NOT listing DC as a state but please listed it as something. I remember when my employer changed their systems and when we ordered something to be delivered to our 3 DC offices, we couldn't do it. Thanks, Manny

10/100/1000 switch will be faster if your NICs, cabling and Switch are capable of transmitting at 1000. Normally you do a stand alone on the "server" but on the other computers you do a workstation installation.

I have never had any issues in the past and I was able to select different types of labels. In this case, I think the software is limited to 3 columns and they feed constantly as if the paper you are using is not 8.5 X 11 but rather 8.5 by 9999999999, depending on the size of your database. In the past, I have always changed the font size (this can still be done) and I have indented as needed.

It doesn't seem to work for me.

I wonder what items are lost or misplaced more often: Umbrellas or Laptops.

This is a good question but the creditor will send only 1 or 2 1099-C. One 1099-C will show the whole amount forgiven, if two 1099-s are issued, they should show only half of the debt forgiven. If there is a mistake with the amounts, the taxpayers have solve that issue with the creditor, not with the IRS. But, let's say that a MFJ return omitted 9K. The following year they file single. Let's say the IRS will try to collect the tax owed in this case is 2K. The IRS (let's say) first assesses the tax on the husband but they are not able to collect. Then they assess the 2K to the wife. Both accounts owe 2K. Let's say that this year the IRS is able to collect 2K from both tax payers. How will anyone know that the other party paid if they don't talk to each other? If one party calls the IRS, the IRS employee will not be able to open the ex's account to check if the amount has been collected.

You can also buy a security where the computer will contact the manufacturer's servers and provide location of your computer. We had to disable that service on some computers because there was a lot of pings and pongs going on on the network and we didn't want that traffic. The only way to prevent that was buying a new motherboard and possibly hard drive.

Where do I select the type of Label I want to use on ATX 2013. I need to print mailing labels and it seems that ATX thinks I just want to make a label list on regular paper.

Should I downgrade my PC to Window 7 Professional
Pacun replied to Naveen Mohan from New York's topic in General Chat
DON'T downgrade. Keep it and make it work. I doubt you will more issues than those using Windows 7. -
Have you thought the other way around? I mean "you could expose your clients' data if you use someone else's router if that router is configured properly" I am going to sleep now. I am very negative today and that's not help, is it????

One thing to consider about laptops is their legs. They walk away easily. How will you feel if your laptop was your main computer and got stolen on Feb 15th, March 15th or April 15th. Have you thought about a fire in your office on those dates? How backed up is your hard drive on a remote location? Just some thoughts.

I think most states share the info with the IRS but big brother doesn't listen to that info. Unless, the state solicits help from the criminal investigation unit from the IRS, the IRS doesn't listen to the info.

Do this, please close all programs you have open. Open a pdf and pay attention if you have to click OK or close anything prior your document opening. Then open another pdf and navigate to see if you have any other popup message that got burried.

I think you pay the penalty first and then taxes or the IRS prorates it.

Yes, run the format command from the command line with the low level parameter

I guess TAXED drew faster. I was asking who the health insurance was for, but Taxed answer the question already.

Are you entering the admin username (ComputerNameAdministrator'sAccountName) and the correct password? My admin account is bigkahuna and the computer name is ready4 so I my user name is ready4bigkahuna and then I type the password.

TAXED, this is what I do when I see a good question and I cannot answer it. I wait for others to answer it. If two days pass and no one has posted any answers, I try to say something so that the post becomes alive again. Since you are still hanging with us, I believe you will be one person that will come back to ATX in 2015. At that point I will ask you how your installation went and I will be glad for you to share your experience. I agree with you and I don't like to get an answer like "did you read the IRS manual?", "Did you read the instructions for form 1040?" "Did you read the tax treaty between the US and that country?". I do feel that those answers destroy the intent of this forum.
