Does the program close after you see the error? Is this a standalone or network computer?

How is this any different than before? Like I said, unfounded, embellished rumors. The article would have you believe that ALL returns with education credits will be delayed. I remember the article stating that all refunds would be held until October. I give them both the same amount of credibility.

I have to look to see where the backup file folder is located. I will post that when I locate it. 1. Install 2013 on the new computer using the downloaded file from the website. You will need your installation codes. 2. Copy the backup file to an external drive. 3. Copy the backup file from the external drive to the hard drive of the new computer. Location is unimportant as long as you know where it is. 4. Open the program on the new computer. 5. Choose backup/restore 6. Follow the steps directing the program to the backup file you just moved. 7. Depending on the number of returns, it may take a while to restore.

If you want the e-file information, you must restore from the backup file. Exporting will not give you e-file information.

I doubt the authenticity of this. More unfounded rumors. Just what is a 4800C?

I predict a record number of CP2000 forms will be issued for this tax year. Income potential.

Drove by Liberty this morning. Lady Liberty was sporting a sign "Free $50 cash for doing your tax return." I don't need clients that would fall for that kind of gimmick.....

Subject to SE. It is compensation for performing his job. You would have a VERY tough time arguing against that under audit. Changed my mind after research and information learned since my first post.

Not baiting anyone. Making a statement. If the shoe fits....

Request from Banker about client moving to Florida

Also, tell your client to find a REAL bank to do business with. -
I just finished taking all the testing I need. It was from the IRS. I don't need testing by anyone else, even if they think they are qualified to be testing others.

None of the forms are Excel any more. That ended with the release of 2012. Fill-in pdf is available at the IRS site. Why does the form need to be in Excel?

My journey has been three and a half years. Took all three tests at once, Feb. 2010. Passed #1 & #3, failed #2. Over the next 2 years I took #2 three additional times and failed all three. By this time, the time had expired on #1 & #3, so I had to start over. Test# 1 - Individuals Test# 2 - Businesses Test# 3 - Representation, Practices and Procedures. July 2012 I purchased the Gleim study course for businesses (#2). Lots of seminars, IRS forums etc., and I felt ready to take #2. My plan was to be sure I passed #2 before I took tests #1 & #3. There is an audio study portion of that program. I downloaded them, burned them on CD's and for a year listened as I was driving. 30 minutes each way to work, and anywhere else I went by myself. Their study program is also very good because it will create simulated tests. When you take the test, you can see what the correct answer is, but more importantly, it explains why the answer is correct as well as telling you why the other answers are wrong. Dec. 29, 2014 I took and passed Test# 2. I asked the fellow at Prometric 3 times if he was kidding me. He smiles and handed me the paper with proof. Jan. 2, 2015 I took the other two tests. Passed them both. I knew I would have no problems with #1 & #3 because those relate to the largest part of my experience.

Either one is acceptable. -
NO. Can't do the reimbursement pretax.

I don't do "creative" outside the regulations. I am totally offended by any business owner that tolerates such actions.

Edit: I moved this so that we may all wish Jack our sincere congratulations, and so that it won't hijack another topic. It's a little misleading that the forum list shows Jack started his own thread of congrats. lol That was not the case. I should have used the "merge" function instead of "move". ~ Judy HEY!! I resemble that!! Passed all 3 EA exams last week. Just waiting on the official paperwork from the IRS. All of this talk about regulating preparers, and the ability to properly represent clients before the IRS are the reasons I stuck with it and won.
