    Military?

Oh yay. She called me from Germany today. No biggie, since she's got refunds coming and it's one less I have to do.
  2. After you change to 0% , SAVE! Then the usage change will stick.

    Military?

Counts for the out of the country due date of June 15? Yeah, I'm fried.
  4. Hee hee, I like that Kea! I was fine with the 10pm appointment. The 1am conversation started with"hey, you work MY hours!" From the client. What was funnier was when she came over to pick up the docs the next afternoon. She was on shift, so I had a police officer in full uniform coming to the door.
  5. Is there a carryover this year too? If the tax rate is higher in Canada, she'll never get a credit for the full amount.
  6. Well, she also asked if she could estimate and deduct the shampoo & other expenses of haircare for the two years it took to grow it, and I just answered "no".
  7. This is horrible. I agree you're just her tax preparer, but waiting for him to die is no way to live. She needs counseling g, and not joint. And a plan to get free. Do the adult kids know her situation? Is she close to them? And prepare her estimates for the upcoming year.
  8. Last night I was talking to a client at 1am; she had emailed me that she was on shift until 'just after midnight'. Handed ove Rhee protective claim this afternoon, and their extensions are filed. Saw two more for pickup at 10pm tonight. I'm happy to get them off my desk! My clients are learning of my odd schedule and don't insist on morning appointments. Although I could do a 6am pretty easy these days.
  9. There should be a worksheet from the Sch CA where you can make the adjustment.
  10. A claim to leave the statute open in case a case still in litigation is decided favorably. With DOMA in the Supreme Court, any of my clients that would benefit by being able to file MFJ or that have the cost of their partners health insurance added to taxable wages are filing protective claims.
  11. Same here and ditto. And when this board goes quiet in a week or so, I miss y'all! Someone stay around to answer my payroll questions, please.
  12. I have protective claims for refund I'm scrambling to get done for 2009. They can be filed at the local IRS office though.
  13. The IRA should have an EIN.
  14. That's not Joel, that's Alfred the butler!
  15. Yeah, I wanna punch them too. She even asked if the $2 of postage it cost to send her hair donation was deductible!
  16. I got the ACKs I sent last night. So it looks like they're coming through.
  17. All of my family lives 3000 miles away, and all but one of the elderly relatives are dead (and that one has more energy in her big toe than I do), so there isn't anything that can't wait for me.
  18. Yes, it was the Run to Feed the Hungry. Thanks, $5 for the t-shirt sounds about right.
  19. Yes.
  20. I put the phone where I can't hear it. Or shut off the ringer.
  21. I'm wide awake and clear at 2am. I used to be a day person and got flipped around.
  22. I create the efile when I print the return, then transmit once I get the signed 8879. It's is an issue for CA, since CA rejects Ny efile that's created more than 2 days before transmission. CA has Lways been standalone, so I unlink any other states I might file. Just works better that way.
  23. SMLLC would be included on tp's 1040. Not sure how NC handles the state. Terry, I'm there with ya.
  24. Intangible religious benefits is only for churches. Remove value of t-shirt? What's the value of a fun run?
  25. It's the electronic version of 'federal attachment for state'.
