  1. I have a friend who loathes and detests sodas made with corn syrup; I'll be sure to tell him. I did note that 100% cane sugar blurb on the home page. I'd also like to hear what folks have to say about flavors, especially the less-usual ones like Peach.
  2. Oh, that sounds good. You mix 'em up and I'll be right over. How long does it take to drive from MA to AR?
  3. Wow -- so many flavors!! And you can mail order from the site. I'll have to give it a try sometime. Thanks, KC.
  4. Tom -- You are right that the bureaucracy now wants to rule and not serve. And I agree that a Constitutional Convention would end up with a fractured, Balkanized America. However, there is one other remedy -- not particularly fast (but slow and steady wins this race) -- elections. We must throw out ALL the scum and replace them with people who actually understand the Constitution and support it (not those who wish to undermine and overturn it). There are so many good folks running for Congressional races this year (in both parties; this isn't partisan but "Constitution-san"), against well-entrenched incumbents. There is, here in MA, even a serious contender against sleazeball Barney Frank in his ultra-gerrymandered district. Doug Hoffman, who almost won NY-23, is running again. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There may not be anyone in your specific district -- but there will be people nearby. After 4/15, make calls, stuff envelopes, distribute lawn signs. We CAN still take our country back. But dismantling the entrenched rot will take time -- after all, it's taken about a hundred years to degenerate this far. Read Constitutional scholar/professor R.J. Pestritto's works on American Progressivism -- or for a quickie course, there's info at http://a12iggymom.vox.com/library/post/american-progressivism-rj-pestritto.html Teddy Roosevelt, Wilson, FDR, were all part of the Progressive movement that advocated big government to solve (=control) all "problems". The rot is in both parties and encouraged by special interest groups that WANT us to fight false Dem/Rep battles as it leaves them free to take over behind the scenes. The Founders were right when they wanted to limit government. Trace back every law that was intended to accomplish some societal "good" -- and you'll find that, eventually, almost all those laws have the exact opposite effect from what was intended.
  5. To rearrange columns, just drag the column header to its' new location.
  6. If you want the IRS to share data with states, you must have your client sign Form 6847 and fax it to IRS/Martinsburg -before- you transmit the e-file (preferably a couple of days before). 1-877-477-0572 was the fax number I was told to use.
  7. Oh, yikes, it's lunch time. That explains why my tummy is rumbling -- thought the client I was just on the phone with was going to be able to hear it! Food. What food do I have available? No bananas. So much for the next item on my to-do list; it's gonna havta wait! What's Faygo?
  8. So there is no specific documentation due to the shareholders from the corporation?
  9. I skimmed it quickly and briefly. Yikes! A very bad combination of desperate and furious.
  10. But how do I report this? There's no clear place for it on the K-1 -- Line 8a as a long-term loss so it can go to the personal Sch D as a business loss? Or does it not go through the K-1 at all? In which case, where and how is it reported?
  11. Line 3 on Form 6251 is not auto-filling for a couple of my returns. I'm having to override to put in the amount from Schedule A that's supposed to be flowing through. Anyone else seen this? Better yet, have a fix? Thanks.

    1040-es

YES the address. I was really tired of hand-writing it on the record page for clients, and it always looked a little cheesy.
  13. Gail -- that was just WONDERFUL! Thanks so much.
  14. You have my thoughts and prayers.
  15. I print from the pdf file because I can't get duplex printing on my printer straight from ATX. I think it's a problem in their coding, as it's been an issue with two different printers over several years. So I go to pdf (which I provide on a CD to the client - no "can I have an extra three copies please" calls), and print duplex from there. I can also watermark from my printer, which is smaller and lighter than the ATX watermark - easier to read and saves toner. That's another thing -- the ATX watermark (when I've tried it this year) comes out all over the map! Too big, offset to one corner or the other of the paper -- it's just WRONG.
  16. Anybody know what's going on with the ATX pdf printer? Half my cover sheets (usually but not always state) and my signature pages (8879 & state equivalents) are coming out TOO BIG TO FIT ON ONE PAGE. (Just like the previous words.) And my comparisons are teeny-tiny like they're meant to be in landscape mode but came out portrait instead. I'm having to print separate files for cover sheets, signature pages, comparisons -- and multiple iterations until they come out right!!! This is NOT workable for an entire season. Anyone else seen this? Anyone else gotten this FIXED?!?! Thanks, Catherine
  17. Have an S-corp that folded, still owing a few pretty pennies to the shareholders. How do I deal with those? Too tired to think right now. Thanks all, and I think it's time to go to sleep. Snow overnight so I'll have to shovel before the first client shows up at 8:30. And if I get shoveled out that client will, of course, cancel. Catherine
  18. New client brings in old problems. Came to me with an issue of consumer tax product over-counting his mortgage on Sch A & Sch E, but if I fix one item I look over the whole thing -- and of course I found more questions. Have solved most them but here's one I'm still pondering. He bought a two-family house. Rents one apartment and lives in the other. But also some years rents out additional bedroom in his apartment. I found the assessment info so I have the building and land values. But what is the right way to depreciate this property? A. Depreciate the whole building even though he lives in half. B. Depreciate only the full-rental half. C. Depreciate the full-rental half plus the rented out space in his half for the years when he did that. I've got my thoughts -- what are yours? Thanks for info/advice! Catherine
  19. Tenenz has a standard 5% discount for online orders, as well.
  20. One of my favorites is the braille instructions on the DRIVE-UP ATM's.
  21. As of today, there is snow that fell THIS YEAR, on the ground, in 49 states. The only holdout is Hawaii -- and it has snow on a couple of the mountains from previous years.
  22. RitaL - Somehow I'd missed the post about your car -- I hope it's all back together again very soon, and that all the paperwork mess is cleared up quickly as well. Catherine
  23. King Friday the 13th on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood used to sing a song: "Propel, propel, propel your craft, Gently down liquid solution. Ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically, Existence is but an illusion." The scary part is that it actually scans -- you -can- sing it to the tune of Row Your Boat.
