  1. mcb39...it wasn't me, but i really don't play or understand social media protocol. my guess, it is a google advertising conspiracy...don't take it personal or google wins. fwiw, i like you!
  2. it maybe/but probably not worth it to her...it is definately not worth it to you.
  3. WOW! color me cynical. sorry, charlie...you (15 posts) and fpjst (5 posts) don't pass my smell test.
  4. cheeburger...cheeburger...cheeburger coke...no pepsi!
  5. i cannot get beyond establishing the initial facts...let alone a question of the taxable income/tax liability of the student/dep...or who claims the personal exemption and potential tuition tax credit. so, the ebond, fm1099int was issued in the name and soc sec number of the student/client...yet the hearsay crowd (the father) claims otherwise?
  6. now that you mention it... my return manager is occasionally flipping a few random returns from completed status back to uncompleted.
  7. yawn...troll? "the shadow knows"
  8. i could have said it different/better...the following is how i did it in the past. you have to be an atx program user or the price is higher. (this year atx seems to say that i am enrolled in payroll and not pay per return...to be continued.) i buy a 5 unit pay per return add on ($120?) with my atx1040 program. i use 3 to efile 3 separate client 1099misc requirements (only one recipient per client...although i think you could file any number of recipients per client and have it count as only one pay per return). i have two in reserve to file a rare 4th state, 1065, 1041, etc. you can also buy additional 5 unit pay per returns...i think there is a price break involved.
  9. i think, current but empty 1099r's from 2011 rollover also screw up and crash...probably more. so far(?) with latest update, i think 2012 requires a clean scorecard from 2011 rollover. i think atx is working on correcting this...for update 12.?. 12.9 is the best for me so far...i am a bare bones (no prior year, altered/rolled over forms) single station, w7, 6 gb system.
  10. i had a similar story...joint 2011 with a deceased husband...rolled over 2011 to 2012...changed everything i could in 2012, i thought...finally had to go to filer info, delete husband info, delete wife info, and move wife info to filer info (date of birth).
  11. link, please! LOLOLOL! i also hear you have a bridge for sale in brooklyn. from my own daily, personal observation, i know that atx is making progress...i have not heard that about taxworks.
  12. hey jbob, give us the complete story. under whose soc sec # is the fm1099int issued & how much is the amount in box 3 of fm1099int?
  13. i only do 3 1099 misc (one person per employer) that i buy as a 5 unit, pay per return ($150?) add on to my atx1040 program. i charge each of them an additional, break even $30 to their billing... since i do their involved sch c/se tax return, i bill them accordingly (+) on the back end.
  14. if you have atx 1040 or 1040 office, you have to buy it. i buy atx's 5 return, pay per return add on for $150? (you can buy more 5 unit add ons) for my 3 1099 filings and **ANY** 2 extra tax returns that i may or not need.
  15. so far, the X0000-005 efile error is a catch-all for (mainly) any form entry glitches. your specific error detail has not been available through atx's first level efile error request. you have had to go to the efile center and enter the taxpayer soc sec #...then you will get a specific clue/reference to the rejection. supposedly, in the current 12.9 update (or the next, next update), atx has adjusted their first level efile rejection reference to explain where the error came from.
  16. my #1 top ten, 1 cent educated guess...you have corrupted forms (that were rolled over from 2011). if this isn't your problem, then there are 9 other options for the atx mess. imo, corrupted forms that cause program crashes seem to be the main problem for high return, networked firms. there is a procedure to delete the corrupted form base and reinstall good forms. the method has been repeated many, many times on the reg atx board.
  17. ??????? are you attempting to say this post is vulger?
  18. reg atx board...search imataxman's post #118251. you have to go to atx efile center and follow the trail. i believe you will find a specfic reference to your problem. most of the problems have to do with glitches in or blank input forms...w2s, 1099s. there are other reasons for the efile rejections.
  19. go to reg atx board...search for imataxman's post #118251. you have to go to atx efile center and jump through the hoops. i believe you will get a specific reference to the problem.
  20. bump...primarily for my benefit. from wed 1/30/13 to tue 2/12/13... just to keep this thread alive... 'why did atx go to this new format?'
  21. YES YES YES...you need to establish a local relationship with a tax preparer who knows what he is doing... and not necessarily a $600+? cpa...although there is eventually a trade off with what you pay and what you get. you will save WAY MORE in time, effort, and money than trying to do it yourself on the cheap. your comment: "my fairly simple return" indicates you haven't come to terms with the reality of your tax preparation needs. you do not have a simple tax return. would you say "my fairly simple"... attorney representation, medical procedure, or computer programming, etc?
  22. my similar right brain version (unless you are also left handed)...with affection . the last time i was wrong was when i thought i was wrong.
  23. bump... because i don't want this thread to get away without jainen knowing i respect his objective knowledge... and that i'm sorry about any personal attacks.
  24. yes, i have 2 computers that i independently installed on one internet connection...the first computer, an xp experiment...worked quite well. so i moved onto the 2nd win7 install. it also seems to work quite well. i'm sorry that i can't adequately explain my situation...the best i can do is say...if you are a single install...simplify all your preference/options and move on.
