Precipice of Total Implosion. *giggle* Can you tell it's late and I'm on a Rockstar + tax return induced state of delirium?

She's probably better off with an installment plan or just being put into currently non collectible status. Like mentioned earlier, if she's young or has assets, the IRS will assume she either can sell assets to pay the tax bill, or will eventually find another job and be able to pay it back.

Hey, if your computers were old, upgrading to a fast system is going to make a huge difference, especially with the memory hog issues. You're being rude. We've gotten a lot of new people on this board since the tech support message said "check out the ATX Community"

NT Man loses it after continuous problems with ATX

Talk about anger management issues! I wouldn't want to be on a plane with him. -
What are vegetables? The things rotting in my kitchen that I threw on the compost pile today? That was my outdoor excursion for the day. But I figured if I could smell them so could the clients.

I've got an i7 processor and 9GB RAM. But the program still slows to a crawl when printing if I leave it open too long. I'm still using print preview to check every return before I print, although I'm getting better with selecting the forms and clicking twice for preparer copy to make sure the SSNs aren't X'd out. Pain in the butt. It's another Rockstar evening. At least the appointment are done for the day.

I'm having the memory drag issues and found a depreciation calc error, but so far so good. I didn't do the 12.9 upgrade, and wonder if I should, especially now that 12.10 is delayed until tomorrow. Some of the issues other people are having, especially on the official forum, are due to archaic computers. They don't even know their system specs, or post 1GB memory. Heck, I had a return consuming more than that last night-even after rebooting it was running at 785,000 MB. I've started closing damn near everything else while working in ATX; good thing I have my iPad to search the forums while printing.

I'm filing the first year for an S-corp that incorporated April 6. I understand that they'll get the 'first year free'. But I thought they'd have to pay the $800 minimum franchise fee as an estimated tax for their 2013 year by March 15. However, also in the back of my addled brain, I seem to remember that this might have changed, and the tax isn't due until the end of the year. I've scoured my Spidell big blue book, but can't find the answer. ATX is calculating no estimated taxes due for 2013. Right or wrong?

Joel, what was your tag line?
-
I put mine at march 20 this year. I need at least two weeks to prepare estimates for people that have to extend because of k1s or will owe.

Next to my heart. Where he loved to spend his time, curled up on my chest.

Glad to hear that KC! And here's to a quick recovery.

And yes, he told me when it was time to quit work. Tasha, on the other hand, hides in my office so when I leave she can liberate all my pens.

Fob died this afternoon. He was my baby, my constant companion. Damn.

My password finally stabilized; I was resetting passwords every time I logged in for about a month. Last two times I got to use the same password, yay! Good thing I know where my first job was....

I didn't work at all last night; just sat with him on my lap. Got fluids in him this morning and a lot of pus out of his cheek. Hope I can get some food in him today. Have to work today, too many returns to do.

Sounds like my guy! But he's up to sub Q every day.

I'm not getting any thing done, just sitting on the couch with a stoned kitty. He ate a little. He's very thin, and has kidney disease, pancreas problems, and now this infection. I've had him since he was born, and he's the only constant in my life all that time. Just got a bit of a purr out of him.

My kitty's 21. About $1500 in vet bills this last month-an infected cheek, got better, 3 weeks later another infection-had 5 teeth extracted and was looking chipper, but now the cheek is swollen again and not draining. Just ran to the vet to get pain killer and hope the antibiotics and compresses get that cheek better. And yes, whenever he starts slowing down, I'm not sure if he's dying or if it's treatable. This last one, still not sure. We're an aging household-one doggie is at least 11, the other one, who knows-showed up as a stray already pretty old 6 or 7 years ago, and the 'kittens' are all 9. At least the checks are (slowly) starting to come in.

Fed & State BOTH created...only Fed shows up as created

Or read your manual. The HOLD feature has been with ATX as long as I've been using ATX-13 years. -
Both are good; I'd go to a few of your local meetings on topics that interest you to see how you like the societies. Sometimes just being able to network with other local tax pros is really beneficial, just like being on these boards is. I haven't done many online courses, so I can't comment on the quality of basic 1040 courses.

Just sick kitty issues on top of tons of clients but not a lot of billing yet. Not a lot of sleep. I have an assistant this year that is helping immensely.

Chowdahead, the 8867 issue is all over the Proseries board too. They're screaming as loud as the ATXers. I don't know about Drake, or UltraTax, Lacerte, etc. My main clientele is RDP returns, and we've had a lot of discussion about how to do these with the new form, but the discussion on my listserve dedicated to LGBT issues is polite and we aren't screaming about software. So much different than any of the others. And I do agree, the delay in efiling, which isn't an issue of us, the IRS or the software companies, except to the point that it has screwed all of us up, is making workflow much different this year. And I do work at home and do not do returns in front of clients. But for my first two EIC returns, I scrutinized the form ten times over. It's new, the due dilligence penalties are horrendous, and I want to be sure everything is correct. Maybe you need someone just to answer the phones?

The ATX CEOs & such don't peruse THIS board as much as the one they have on their own website. This is a privately run board of mostly ATX customers. So you're pissing up a rope here and just pissing us off.
