No, not subject to SE. But if the fee is in box 7, be prepared for the CP2000.

My home phone only rings in my office too! But for niceties: my first client of the day brought me some beautiful Asian pears. And the last client brought me Philippino noodles. I ate while we had our appointment. Lovely!

And he admitted as much to committing fraud by using a fictitious Westchester address (I think you mentioned parent's address earlier?). That set off alarm bells for me. And now since he has to apply for food stamps he'll admit to NYC residency. I'd throw this one off the bridge.

I use my cell as my business phone. And it charges upstairs in my office while I am downstairs sleeping. Can't hear it! I've also converted many of my clients to email, and I do get back to them sooner, and unlike that phone call, I can fire off a question at 3am. They tease me about the time stamp, and I reply: that's why I don't see anyone before 1pm!

How's printing? Getting the print manager to load is my biggest slowdown area.

I took a nap too! And bought chocolate. I'm living the high life baby! Judy, I know what you mean about zombies. But it's the clients eating our brains.

I left the house to buy groceries today. I feel so decadent.

Remember so long ago when it took two days to get ACKs? What was it, two years ago? -
Might be a spin to make them look better. Maybe that's just what the software defaulted to.

Naps are good too"

Yes, she does have a nice house in Tahoe with a decent basis. And I do feel bad especially since she was still wheezing when she came in, holdover from the exposure.

Yeah I've got the CA issue too. Hate it! Who the heck decided an efile had to be sent within 2 days after it was created? Don't they know we sometimes get these things back by mail?
-
Oh vent all you want! We can commiserate on our clients.....Tax Almanac even has a thread titled "Dear Client" where you can write what you really want to say. Maybe we should start one here? Or maybe you just did?

Community property is a bitch, and something people in separate property states just aren't going to understand! CA is a bit easier in divorce; the community ends when the couple splits and has no intention of reconciling. So the community would likely have ended when she moved out. But I've done enough research to know that for most community states this isn't the case.
-
It depends on when the community ended, which depends on state law. In some states, the community does not end until the divorce decree is final. The 8958 can be efiled with Single returns- that's what I'm doing for my RDPs!

They were lied to about the roof by the seller. The disclosures required by CA law didn't mention it. She does have a doctors order regarding mold in their primary residence.

You should have attended the user conference. Wow. Wined & dined and great CPE too. I'm staying with ATX too. I test drove Drake a few years ago and had issues with it, especially with the CA module. Proseries has its own problems....when a state comes out and says "don't use Intuit products" that's pretty bad. The memory issues are supposed to be addressed in the latest update, but for now I'm just closing the program when the drain gets too high. Reopening the program is fast. -
I haven't found a way to do it.

Client is on disability because of respiratory problems. Client bought a vacation home in the mountains in 2012 partially because valley smog is not good for her breathing, but she noticed she was having issues in the vacation house too. It was bought in the dry season but when it started raining, they noticed the roof leaked. When they pulled the roof up to repair it, black mold was found in the roof, in the insulation, and under the carpet in much of the house. The insulation, carpet, much of the subflooring, roof, etc. had to be replaced. the time between purchase and discovery of the mold was not more than a few months. They had asked about roof issues when they bought the place but were told there were none. It was a short sale, as is, so there is no recourse available. Apparently the seller isn't worth suing for lying on the contract- no assets. Can the repairs be taken as medical expenses? Or are we left with a casualty loss? She is still suffering from the exposure to the black mold.

Or you've got something typed in all the returns the wrong way. A character that MEF doesn't recognize. On state forms, the 3rd party authorization was often the culprit. When you click on the red box in the rejection window, where does it take you?

Proseries is having a bunch of issues too, and at this point I don't think you can get through on their customer support lines either. Look at their message board. -
Margaret I send a lot of PDFs too. I send the letter with the PDF of the return, stating the return will be efiled when they sign & return the signature forms. IMHO, you are over thinking this.

What's form 1139?
-
Wow. Just wow. So all those people who fled ATX for proseries......? Lol.

Extensions all around.
