  1. I get my "Final" copy of Kiplinger about every quarter. I signed up for them about10 years ago, but their analysis was a little projective ("we expect congress will pass XXX legislation and it will have this effect on your clients") and geared toward higher earning clients. I did not renew, but about every 3 months my "Final" copy arrives in the mail. Tom Modesto, CA

  2. This doesn't surprise me, I remember when credit card companies would sell customers telephone numbers during the era of telemarketing. Now for your enjoyment, people taking revenge on telemarketers: Now

  5. The new season is basically upon us. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying December festivities! Was hoping for some feedback on tax newsletters you may receive (whether free or paid) that provide general updates on taxes. I prefer the updates to be personal tax information but I am very willing to receive corporate updates as well. I receive emails from my CPA Societies but wanted to see what type of information you may receive or subscribe to? With the anticipated changes that should take place the coming months, I'd like to stay as up to date as I can. Thanks very much

  6. I will reschedule 1 missed appointment (stuff happens, I get it). The second time, I will not schedule them. They can drop in during my office hours and wait for me to have time to get to them. It usually ends up they mail or drop off or I never see them again. I really don't care by that point. If you don't value our time together, then I don't need you as a client. I know that sounds like I am being harsh, and I do need my clients, but if you stiff me twice, I lose respect for you and you get my very professional demeanor when you come in. Tom Modesto, CA

  9. I recently subscribed to KPMG's Tax News Flash. It's way more than I need but I just skip to the relevant articles. Plus it's free. Long time reader of Dave & Mary Mellem's emails. I think you can subscribe by just emailing Mary at [email protected]. Forbes has some good tax writers like Tony Nitti.

  11. I read Kiplinger's Tax Letter every 2 weeks. They cover all areas including enforcement issues. Their lowest price is $38/yr and I renew for 2 years at $68. Also, every 3 weeks my barber gives me updates.
