  1. I am certainly happy clients will be getting a letter on amount of ACTC for our reconciliation. Now we only have to hope they get their EIP correct.

  2. They all assume they are entitled to that anyway!!!!!

  3. I don't believe it does. At 1400+ returns, you shouldn't be considering top tier software, not bottom tier software like ATX.

  4. How many emergency updates do you have to go through before you think maybe the product itself is the problem?

  5. Another unscheduled Chrome update needed to address an extremely serious security risk. In the last month Google has announced almost 40 different active security exploits "Chrome is up to date Version 96.0.4664.110 (Official Build) (64-bit)"

  6. If you want to do real editing of the pdf data, you probably want their Editor software. What you can do is white out a section ( remove what is there) and then type over it. You can paste information from another source to add pages or information. If I want a real editor, I use a website to do that or generate raw from a Word type document. 99% of the time on a PDF all I want to do is type something in to add information / delete information or just highlight words for clients attention - signature lines. I can do that with their Reader version.

  8. The IRS will be sending out letter 6475 in early 2022 with the amount of the third EIP. Sending out an email to all my clients to look for the letter and make sure they keep it.

  9. I have paper filed a few this year with form 1310 and they received refunds in a reasonable amount of time Well, he would probably be glad to receive a much larger refund; wait time included. ( I know I would). Thank you for your comments!

  10. Account transcripts are available anytime and are very useful for estimates, amounts applied forward, stimulus checks and (I assume) child tax credit payments. But, yes, wage transcripts aren't useful before summer, or even fall. They used to be partially useful around late March but recently I've seen them blank into summer months.

  11. I encourage all my clients and friends and family to get an IRS account. I've had one for a very long time and it's extremely convenient.

  12. Thanks! I'll use that for crib notes when I write our "welcome to tax season" letter for our clients. That was on this afternoon's to-do list, too.

  13. I posted before knowing the extent of the devastating tornado damage in Arkansas (and other states). We were close, but not hit. Sorry if the post came off as cold and/or tone-deaf at such a time.

  14. I read your teaser line and looked at this the other day (and got a quick laugh.) But I fell for it again and am laughing again. I keep reading that and thinking you're in an AA program or giving up a tax-practice secret. (which half of my tax practice secret is the alcohol.....) Good grief.

  15. Thank you! They have three products, ATX, Taxwise and Prosystem, and they are so different. Compare the three created by them, ATX is most user friendly. Wish everyone had a good thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all.

  16. I have downloaded my ATX 2021 software. I have been trying to get the password to the integrated tax research product that comes with my package. My account rep is missing in action. After trying and getting tech support I got passed around like a basketball and never got anyone who could get the usual email with the info out to me. I suppose they will get it to me sooner or later.
