  1. I think I'd wait until January or later to file 2014, to give 2013 time to be settled.

  2. Now that is funny! Glad it's over and I can continue to be amazed at all the side effects, from the drugs I mean.

  3. Yeah....I was beginning to think that less drugs were being made...Now we can get back to those ads, and food.

  4. After listening to those lists you start to think the original ailment jes ain't all that bad, y'know?!

  5. Another way the 1099K messes up reporting is for places that offer cash back. I'm sure your restaurant client doesn't, but bars/strip joints often do (the guys need crisp bills to tip the..."performers"). Seems like that chef of yours got used to reporting one-eighth of his income every year and didn't realize that by accepting plastic he now has a "paper trail" to prove him wrong. I know a lot of wait staff who were pretty upset once plastic became the preferred form of paying tips.

  9. I like how Chicago Cubs fans have forgiven the goat and Steve Bartman, but they seem to have no recollection of a player named Sammy Sosa. Cubs fans had blast on burn Sosa shirt day

  10. That little ball my old eyes can't follow and the slow pace and the one batter against a team instead of a team against a team and little action and.... But, I did watch my Cubbies. I like your graphics!

  11. Accept the fact that there will be a few questions you have no idea what the answer might be--just guess and move on so you don't waste time on them. I studied hard for months, and there were a couple questions that I had never encountered the subject at all. I just moved on and somehow passed all four parts first try (there were 4 parts not so long ago). One was on the optional method of reporting self-employment income. I've bumped into the topic a few times since the SEE but never once used it. I've often thought that the most valuable lesson I learned from studying for the exam is that there is a massive amount of stuff I don't know.

  12. Well, I may be too quick to judge. If they could convince me this was really boo boo (as in somebody left off a digit on gross receipts) and not a thirty year chain saw massacre...

  14. Please only vote in areas where you have studied the issues and options! None of *us* I shouldn't think, but far too many go in to the booth clueless and fill in the circle or push the lever based on "I dunno; this looks OK". Especially but not exclusively about state/local issues. When in doubt, leave it blank!

  15. At least now the drug commercials give some clue as to what ailment the drug is used for. When those commercials first came on the scene, some of them were rather vague about the condition they were supposed to help. I think the one for Rogaine might have been like that Too long ago to remember now, but it was before the internet or easy access to finding that information.

  16. My husband times the reading of the side effects, sometimes it's 3/4 of the commercial. I hate taking meds that are advertised, because then I'm hearing the side effects all the time!

  18. The gross income they reported was a fraction of the credit card receipts is what I got from your first post. And they reported zero cash is what I'm surmising from your second post. Do I have that right? A restaurant that reported no cash receipts? If that is true, I would be running, not walking, away from this client. (If I ran.)

  19. "I'm curious why the client didn't give you the form 1099K? And, it would help if we knew the what kind of business. " Good question, this client has been a cash only restaurant for 30+ yrs, until recently they starting accepting CC. TP does their own accounting and I will be asking how this information was missed. In order to show a profit, the floundering gourmet seafood restaurant was allowed to cook its books since there is no accounting for taste.

  20. As a die-hard Indians fan - through all of the up and down (mostly down) years, I have been a fan. Even when it was not fashionable to be a fan. Even when I lived halfway on the other side of the country I was an Indian fans. I am one that is not at all happy that the Cubs won - or rather that the Indians lost - the series. I was hoping this was our year and that the Indians could win one in my lifetime. But alas, (and I have this recorded so let me just hit the "play" button) - maybe next year, maybe next year, maybe next year. Come on Cleveland, I am running out of years. Oh - congratulations Cubs - you earned it! It was a great series!
