  1. I will do all amendments starting on May 1. If client complains, I tell them to call their Senator and Congressman. They caused this pile of male bovine scat, not me.
  2. I have a farmer that wishes to change from accrual to cash. I know how to fill out 3115 to accomplish the change. Here is my question: There is inventory involved. How do I treat it when making the accounting method change? Do I carry it over as inventory until sold, then use the basis as COGS? Do I expense the inventory and have no COGS when sold? I am certain, someone on the board has experience.
  3. We have had clients receive CP2000 concerning 1099-K. The IRS IS checking them now.
  4. You missed it!! I am counting the money I will make to amend a bunch of returns!!
  5. I just choose NOT to do it. Client only. No one else get copies or information.
  6. I do exactly the same as Medlin Software. I send/give NO information to anyone but the client. PERIOD. If you send information, even with the signed consent form, and something goes bad with their dealings down the road, you have just inserted yourself smack dab in the middle.
  7. Somebody tag a date for this swaray so we can get started with some serious planning. Do I understand that Crossville, TN is the location?
  8. Do they still sell Grapette in TN?
  9. My observed and experienced opinion: There will be no action by Congress on any level concerning extenders. I am willing to bet anyone a banana split on this one!!
  10. This is one reason I do not even try to use e-services. They are too cheap to hire the properly skilled I.T. people to fix it. I just have clients send in or call for information to be mailed to them. I don't have time to be the IRS technical service person.
  11. That would be a question to e-mail to ATX. My Crystal Ball is broken...
  12. This is the reason I review every return.

Yes. That is correct. The over payment is an amount the IRS can collect. They should have updated the information on the Marketplace website.
  14. Delete the cover page form, save the return, then add the form back.
  15. I thought Rita B was in Tennessee?
  16. Wait for the SS#. ATIN will probably reject if you e-file. Don't expect the refund quickly. The return WILL be reviewed. May be 6 weeks to 6 months. If you file now and amend later, expect it to be much longer. The IRS will DEFINITELY scrutinize the amended return with a magnifying glass. I tell all my clients that receive a refund: "Do not spend the money until you have it in your hand." Most do not bother to listen to that advice, then I field all the calls: "Why is my refund taking so long. I have to pay XXXXXXXX that we bought last month. We must have the refund to pay the bill."
  17. Way too soon to expect acks for 1099 forms.
  18. 4562 downloaded to my machines. E-filed several with 4562 this morning.
  19. No issues at all in my office, or the firm.
  20. No W-9, no paycheck. Problem solved. Second option: No W-9, withhold 28% from their pay for Federal taxes, per regulations. THAT will get their attention.
