  1. Agree that a single Sch C is appropriate.
  2. Where’s My Refund? IRS Web Site Is Swamped http://news.yahoo.com/where-refund-irs-swamped-210040426.html http://dontmesswithtaxes.typepad.com/dont_mess_with_taxes/2013/02/irs-swamped-by-refund-tracking-taxpayers.html
  3. I think the one issue no one addressed was the first six words of the post. "You are preparing yourself to become..." If you are not yet qualified to be in this business, how did you earn the money? I'm guessing that you are in fact "in business", since you are getting paid. But I still have questions about those words. Could you give us a bit more info?
  4. I used it for my last several years, from time to time. Worked great, had no problems with it. I did add the fee since this was for the client's benefit, not mine.
  5. This came through my mailbox in early 1994. The intro that came with it says it was from the mid-1930s, and happened at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) medical school, second-term human physiology course, taught by Prof. Kenneth Ivors. True? No idea. Funny? Definitely! Instructor: "Good morning, class. Before we begin today's lecture, I should like to discover how well ye have been tracking the previous material. Miss Warlin, will ye stand?" She stands. "Can ye tell me, which organ of the body achieves 10 times its normal size when it is excited?" (She stammers, reddens, says nothing.) "Ye may sit down. Mr. VanBuskirk, can ye answer that question?" "It is the pupil of the eye, sir," he says, then sits down. "Vurra good. Now, Ms Warlin, I have three things to say to you: One, you have not done your homework; two, you have a dirty mind, and; three, you're in for a big disappointment."

  10. Now scheduled for nex Wed. Which proves it is just CYA test, because I don't get the new EKG till Friday. btw: You know you live in a Country run by idiots if... You have to have your parents signature to go on a school field trip but not to get an abortion.
  11. Yes, all state income taxes.
  12. Update: Surgery postponed, due to "bad" EKG. Have to have another one done, so the anesthesiologist can CHA, A real bummer, have to get another EKG Friday, and HOPEFULLY will have the surgery next Tues. . the extra test is just a CYA thing, they operate on much sicker people all the time. Even if the second test is the same, all it is for is to protect the anesthesiologist from legal risk.just so he has proof that he took all precautions, I should have had the option to just sign a release. He'd still know to be alert to related problems. This is one reason medical costs are so high, all the extra tests.
  13. Good to hear.
  14. My surgery is tomorrow, so I'm making a point of finding as much to laugh about as possible. I do hold to the theory that laughter is good medicine.
  15. Yeah, that janitor one was great. Amazing how many people just kept following the path without looking around. I figured we could all use a good giggle or two.

  17. I have a S-I-L who was postmaster in a small town. She told me that they were supposed to send them back to IRS but if she knew the person she went ahead and forwarded them. Of course, she knew most of them.

  19. Just remind the clients that there was A REASON WHY THEY SET UP THE MULTIPLE LLCs, and it's worth the extra cost to protect those properties. Sometimes they forget that. It's just like buying insurance. Whether yoou need it or not in any one year, only an idiot does not buy insurance, right?
  20. Yeah, Eric please let one of us help you. We all appreciate you so much, and being able to "give back" would make any of us feel good. Why would you deprive us of that? And frankly, we LOVE any client who actually wants to understand why something is the way it is.
  21. The storm reports made me think of this old joke. One winter morning a couple was listening to the radio over breakfast. They hear the announcer say, "We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street so the snowplows can get through." Norman's wife goes out and moves her car. A week later while they are eating breakfast and again, the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street so the snowplows can get through." Norman's wife goes out and moves her car again. The next week they are again having breakfast when the radio announcer says "We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park---" and right then the power goes out. Norman's wife is very upset, and with a worried look on her face she says, "Honey, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snowplows can get through?" With the love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married to blondes exhibit, Norman says, "Sweetie, why don't you just go ahead and leave it in the garage just this once?"
  22. Yes, there is a K1 worksheet, but I doubt it will be available until the Sch E page 2 is available, since that is where it feeds to.
  23. When I hear "Nemo" I think of Captain Nemo and the Nautilus. Guess that shows my age, huh?
  24. http://www.iespell.com/ is great, and works with every program I've ever tried it in.
  25. One reason the Services have trouble operating jointly is that they don't speak the same language. For example, if you told Navy personnel to "secure a building," they would turn off the lights and lock the doors. Army personnel would occupy the building so no one could enter. Marines would assault the building, capture it, and defend it with suppressive fire and close combat. The Air Force, on the other hand, would take out a three-year lease with an option to buy.
