  1. A client of mine who is a MAJOR computer geek uses Kaspersky, for whatever that means to you. I figured I'd look at it sometime when the existing crises have been addressed and I have time to think about such items.
  2. Or perhaps you are both ROTFLYAO.
  3. I am. It sounds good to clients, I guess. Certainly no one has -called- me from their much-touted "referral" service. I get almost all of my new accounting clients through bookkeepinghelp.com (Cheryl & Jim Berry run it and do an excellent job). I also get some tax clients that way. The best thing about the ProAdvisor program is that, for roughly the cost of new software every year, you get QB Accounting Edition, Entreprise Edition (not that I've ever even installed it), and a special support phone number to access. The certification -- I did it for 2009 just to say I did. I think they've updated the program so you don't have to go through the whole hoo-rah every year; just a shortened upgrade-only course. So I may bother for 2010 in June or so. Hope this helps. Catherine
  4. I was also told by Troy that he would investigate and get back to me. Apparently there is quite a to-do going on over there with all of us calling with the same issues.
  5. is always amazed at how busy the post-season "lull" manages to get.

  6. Perhaps he has just gone to lunch or a meeting and that he will get back to you this afternoon. Let's hope!
  7. Make it four -- Catherine in Massachusetts got the deal from Troy, as well. I started by telling him that Margaret had said he was wonderful to deal with, and after that he bent over backwards to be nice to me....
  8. Sorry to hear of Booger's depression and how they aren't giving the same break to those who remained loyal last year. However, I had another success to report. I called and spoke with Troy, and got the 40% discount on Max for 2010. Plus, I mentioned my displeasure at them dropping the asset history function and that I might go purchase asset manager software elsewhere. So he offered me the ATX Asset Manager program also with the 40% discount. I had been planning on buying the TRX $299 package specifically for the RIA research and fixed asset manager. Now I have to wonder if I want to bother with them at all. Between the TaxBook, the online ATX research (that I can never find anything in, but it's there), and all the wonderful folks here and on some other forums, I just might not need anything else. And I can always renew the CFS online research I'd let lapse, as well. Catherine
  9. I am SO glad to hear your thyroid surgery was successful!! All my best wishes and prayers for a speedy and full recovery for you! Catherine
  10. so sorry about your RAV 4 but VERY glad your daughter is out of danger on you folks don't need to go into hiding!!!
  11. Jainen is right in this instance. The most important thing to figure out is how YOU learn best. Then, you can look at what types of products fit that style. Gleim worked beautifully for me -- but I do best with self-study, and I also do well with computer-based testing. A classroom is the -worst- place for me to learn (had I known before college.... ) . If you learn from listening to explanations, Gleim would be tortuous for you. So start by thinking back at ways you've learned things and what worked well for you. Then go from there. Catherine
  12. We still ALL wish you luck in getting this resolved quickly.
  13. Hi folks -- Some of you may remember my posting a picture or two last year from the rifle matches we compete in towards the end of April and early May. Well, this year, to go with my spiffy purple rifle, my husband got me a shooting jacket way better than my old one (he's the best; I'm really lucky). If nothing else, I'll psych out the competition this year!
