Very simple. They also ask for corrected forms and schedules to be appended. Many if not most folks trying this on their own will miss that bit. And we'll end up with new clients after their self-prepared 1040X is rejected.

My daughter swears by Photoshop Elements for adjusting photos -- frequently this comes free with your computer, too. And it has tutorials that are actually useful. Catherine

Many thanks to all! I had a very good day, and we had snow with big, fluffy flakes, all day long that amounted to about an inch on non-paved surfaces only. Catherine

jainen is exactly correct here -- and specifically includes the point he either missed or ignored in a similar post. "Up to the amount of assets", with the additional line of "He got the money -- he owes the tax".
