I would say to apply for an ITIN and file MFJ, if the spouse is petitioning for her for immigration purpose it is a NO NO to do anything that is not MFJ, if she lived in another country besides Mexico and Canada then MFS and using a special code instead of SSN. MAS

How can I completely remove ATX2012 from a WIN7 machine? I created a temporary client, removed ATX via uninstall program, rebooted and reinstalled ATX and the darn client appears, this is telling me it wasn't completely removed. Second try, I deleted ATX2012 folder (shift-del), uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled and the client reappears. Any suggestions? Thanks MAS

IRS has approved form 4562 as of Feb. 10, 2013 however ATX shows it's still not available for efiling, can someone confirm this is a problem with ATX or your is okay? Thanks MAS

Do you usually remove forms not in use for the current year? I have a client that had the energy credit for 2011, in 2012 it's giving me a error that the form is not available for e-file, they took the max credit and would make a difference in 2012, I should have no problem deleting the form?

I am trying to figure out if things are different for 2012. If you create or rollover a client a one computer, make changes and save it and close the client, then you go to another computer. Should that client appear on all the computers or only the computer where you opened it first? Don't know if this is how 2012 works, but it prior years every computer had the same return manager. At first I wasn't having any issues with ATX, boy I'm getting frustrated

Have you considered having two split systems? I have one XP computer that has ATX 2005 to 2008, my second computer has 2009 to 2012. If I need take a look at an old file, I just turn on the computer and turn it off when done, saves resources on the newer computer. Same goes for my quick books program.

Does anyone know where is the return manager database folder located? I need to make sure the permission are set correctly, for some reason the 10 clients I have rolled over don't appear on the new PC, I can see all clients under roll over.

Okay, I haven't been successful in setting another computer via netsetup, I cannot get the database (or whatever it's called for 2012) to appear. The path is correct, if I turn off the main computer and try to access ATX2012 it tells me it cannot find the path etc.... So this tell me it's connect. I have tried uninstalling/reinstlling but it remains the same. Today I am going to try using another computer, this computer is almost brand new, I will not be installing prior years on, just want to test 2012. Now can someone post the procedure they followed to setup another computer, I see under the folder CCH small... ATX2012 and I see this two folders Netsetup and Workstation, also if I open the ATX2012 I see the same folders, which is the correct one? Any help will be greatly appreciate, FYI the main computer works just fine. Thanks MAS

Now try connecting another computer via net setup, let me know if you are successful. My stand alone pc ATX 2012 works great in WIN7 since day one.

When you say crash, did you lose everything you entered when you reopen the return?

Yesterday I installed ATX 2008 to 2011 on a brand new Dell i5 with 8gb of ram, it probably took a few seconds to install those years and opening them. I had hard time installing ATX2012 (net setup), but I was able to install it, then the PC started making a noise like if it was trying to process something, I uninstalled it and the processing noise when away, reinstalled it and it came back no matter if ATX was closed. The program opens but it does take time to load.
