  1. Need to vent a little, I prepared a tax return for a client about three weeks ago, mailed it to them, spouse calls me to ask why their refund was so little, I took about 20 minutes explaining to them that their income went up significantly from the prior years therefore putting them at a higher tax bracket resulting in a lower refund. Well I thought they understood the reasoning, two weeks past by and I had not received their signed forms to efile, so I called them to follow up, and they didn't know how to tell me that they went somewhere else and that is why they hadn't return the forms to me. I asked what was the problem, my gut feeling was that they were unhappy with refund amount, and they had already starting working with someone else. I told them it was fine, but it would been nice if you would of told me something if you felt I did something wrong and they said that wasn't the problem, so I told them I was sorry for not being able to serve them, but I expected to be paid for my work.
  2. Following this man tips, can help you buy your own tax software company. http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/how-to-afford-anything.htm
  3. I almost freak out when I seen that message, I didn't realize had too many programs open in the background, I closed everything and I was still getting that message. So I decided to close ATX2012 to restart the computer and that's when I found out I already had a client open, so if you get the low resource error message that's probably because you have a client open.
  4. A backup is very important, daily if possible with ATX being so unstable. If the return manager didn't reappear, you completely removed the program, however did you manually delete any folders? I have uninstalled so many times, I never lost data, but I had a backup on an external drive just incase. You mention you are working on WIN7, do you use the backup program on it? If not, it's very simple to setup, all you need is an external hard drive (I recommend a 2TB), which you can find under $150. PM me and I will help you set it up once you have the hard drive. Marco
  5. Tried to uninstall and reinstall from disk. Rebooted computer. Nothing. Tried to uninstall and reinstall from website. Rebooted computer. Nothing. I am very surprised this didn't work for you, try using a program called Revo Pro Uninstaller, it will remove all traces of the software, then try to reinstall it. Then restore from your backup, I completely removed the software using Revo, reinstalled it and my clients still reappear, so I was thinking it didn't completely removed it, but after reinstalling it worked for me.
  6. How much are they going to charge you to transfer your info to the new HD?
  7. We are the beta testers and they anticipate having it fixed after April 15, 2013.
  8. Did ATX programers deliberately sabotage ATX? I am going to have to say no, even companies like Microsoft have goof ups, don't forget about Windows ME, Vista and now Windows 8, I might of skipped a version in between that was flawed. I don't remember what version was it, but computer kids were helping Microsoft patch their mistakes. Something I do agree with most, is the software sucks

  10. What version are you on currently?
  11. Congrats to all the SSD users, during the non-tax season, I will be buying a new PC with SSD, too bad it's pricey per GB still.
  12. Low resource, it's time to upgrade the memory on your PC or you have too many programs open at the same time, ATX2012 is a memory hog. ATX2012 requires a mininum of 2GB, but you can go with 8 or 16BG that would be better.
  13. Please visit the software issue forum, you will see even people with the best PC are having problems because of the software design for 2012.
  14. In the past I have requested wage and earning transcripts reports from the IRS, this way I know exactly what was reported to the IRS.
  15. This it's taking a lot longer to open clients, everything was working fine yesterday.
  16. My Brother HL 5450dn printer came in today and I am loving it, pretty fast printer, prints up to 40ppm I think it took longer for the print form module to load then the time it took to print 30 pages. The only downside it's kind of noisy, but today is the first day and I know I will get use it.
  17. I had a similar problem with one return while on 12.8, yesterday I installed 12.9 and I was able to open without the program closing.

  23. Eye Surgery You can include in medical expenses the amount you pay for eye surgery to treat defective vision, such as laser eye surgery or radial keratotomy. Define defective vision? TP did want to wear eyeglasses any longer like many, is this considered comestic surgery or a medical deduction?
  24. I hate to say, buy it somewhere hidden, reinstall atx and everything reappears.
  25. I have nothing against bartenders or exotic dancers, but how could they go to college, law school, own a condo on so little money?
