  1. I am familiar with Berwyn, we actually own rental property there and I always pass through Bellwood to get to Melrose Park, I am currently in the south loop. "Chicago....One of my favorite places....just not it the winter." We always complain about the Chicago winters, but come summer and these excessive heat waves, we really can't wait for winter
  2. True Chicagoans still call it Marshall Field and the Willis Tower, the Sears Tower. Are you also in the Chicagoland area?
  3. Hello Rob, your picutre looks like it's LaSalle St? Good someone is having luck with netsetup, I cannot get the darn thing to work.
  4. I like the diet version, the regular one is too fattening
  5. FYI Server 2003 doesn't play nice with recent versions of quickbooks enterprise, it acts like ATX2012 and it is very fustrating it takes a while to load data.
  6. Catherine, have your client find out for themself, let them get the dissapointment when it doesn't qualify for the credit. I made a mistake calling the manufacture of heating system to find out the model what was installed in my client house was not energy efficient, didn't qualify for the credit, plus the model was discontinued like 2 years prior. Client wasn't happy that they didn't return the next year.
  7. The money has to be withdrawn as a loan, there is a 60-day grace period for 401K and IRA accounts, if the taxpayer fails to pay it back in full or partially, then taxpayer would recieve a 1099R and would be subject to the 10% penalty. And what her friend told her is not true. 60 Day Loan Do you need a short term loan? The IRS allows a person to withdraw money from their 401K or IRA tax and penalty free providing that amount is repaid within 60 days. This is not the IRS being kind. This rule is designed for those who are moving their retirement accounts to another financial institution. They assume that it could take up to 60 days to get everything set up once the person receives a check from their old fund. Again, though, keep in mind that while this could be used as a loan, it won’t happen quickly. It could take months for your old retirement provider to process your request. - See more at: http://www.savingtoinvest.com/2010/09/how-to-withdraw-money-early-from-your-401k-or-ira-without-paying-a-penalty.html#sthash.rEkZ29fy.dpuf
  8. Has anyone been able to do cover letter for corporate returns? Under edit I cannot find fields to set it up, if someone has a template, please PM me. Thanks Marco
  9. I was told by a lawyer, that class action attorneys make a ton of money off these type of lawsuits, but whoever joins the lawsuit only get a small fraction. My cellular company sent me a 23 cent check.
  10. Need to vent a little, I prepared a tax return for a client about three weeks ago, mailed it to them, spouse calls me to ask why their refund was so little, I took about 20 minutes explaining to them that their income went up significantly from the prior years therefore putting them at a higher tax bracket resulting in a lower refund. Well I thought they understood the reasoning, two weeks past by and I had not received their signed forms to efile, so I called them to follow up, and they didn't know how to tell me that they went somewhere else and that is why they hadn't return the forms to me. I asked what was the problem, my gut feeling was that they were unhappy with refund amount, and they had already starting working with someone else. I told them it was fine, but it would been nice if you would of told me something if you felt I did something wrong and they said that wasn't the problem, so I told them I was sorry for not being able to serve them, but I expected to be paid for my work.
  11. Following this man tips, can help you buy your own tax software company. http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/how-to-afford-anything.htm
  12. I almost freak out when I seen that message, I didn't realize had too many programs open in the background, I closed everything and I was still getting that message. So I decided to close ATX2012 to restart the computer and that's when I found out I already had a client open, so if you get the low resource error message that's probably because you have a client open.
  13. A backup is very important, daily if possible with ATX being so unstable. If the return manager didn't reappear, you completely removed the program, however did you manually delete any folders? I have uninstalled so many times, I never lost data, but I had a backup on an external drive just incase. You mention you are working on WIN7, do you use the backup program on it? If not, it's very simple to setup, all you need is an external hard drive (I recommend a 2TB), which you can find under $150. PM me and I will help you set it up once you have the hard drive. Marco
  14. Tried to uninstall and reinstall from disk. Rebooted computer. Nothing. Tried to uninstall and reinstall from website. Rebooted computer. Nothing. I am very surprised this didn't work for you, try using a program called Revo Pro Uninstaller, it will remove all traces of the software, then try to reinstall it. Then restore from your backup, I completely removed the software using Revo, reinstalled it and my clients still reappear, so I was thinking it didn't completely removed it, but after reinstalling it worked for me.
  15. How much are they going to charge you to transfer your info to the new HD?
  16. We are the beta testers and they anticipate having it fixed after April 15, 2013.
  17. Did ATX programers deliberately sabotage ATX? I am going to have to say no, even companies like Microsoft have goof ups, don't forget about Windows ME, Vista and now Windows 8, I might of skipped a version in between that was flawed. I don't remember what version was it, but computer kids were helping Microsoft patch their mistakes. Something I do agree with most, is the software sucks

    Take notes

Good luck jack, hope every thing works out for you.
  19. Congrats to all the SSD users, during the non-tax season, I will be buying a new PC with SSD, too bad it's pricey per GB still.
  20. Low resource, it's time to upgrade the memory on your PC or you have too many programs open at the same time, ATX2012 is a memory hog. ATX2012 requires a mininum of 2GB, but you can go with 8 or 16BG that would be better.
  21. Please visit the software issue forum, you will see even people with the best PC are having problems because of the software design for 2012.
  22. In the past I have requested wage and earning transcripts reports from the IRS, this way I know exactly what was reported to the IRS.
