I am the same, I don't give them copies of the depreciation schedule unless they ask for it, 9 of 10 times new clients don't want for me to call the prior preparer, so like any other champ I recreate it to match prior years (not a problem for me) IRS agent didn't have a problem with a recreated schedule, in the past I had to call prior preparers and most are not very friendly or helpful, I once had a guy hung up on me and cursed me out

Yikes, I better speed it up then.

I need to send a handful of corporate extensions, does anyone know if there is a short cut to prepare them in bulk, instead of opening one by one? Thanks MAS

My computer was so slow in general yesterday, every program was dragging, midday I said the hell with this and did a complete shut down, low and behold there were 3 critical updates from Microsoft ready to be installed. It took 7-10 minutes before the computer shut down, after the install the computer was a bit faster, however I am still working on 12.0 on a WIN7 64-bit machine, so check to see if there are any critical updates waiting to be installed.

Here are some good points, it's seems it won't qualify medical or casualty loss. http://www.taxalmanac.org/index.php/Discussion:Black_Mold_Casualty_Loss

FYI the IRS is starting to audit years where form 1139 was used, in addition the years of losses claimed on form 1139 are also audit, no matter if the statue of limitation has expired.

ATX 2012 Needs to Be Fixed as It will affect us in 2013 as Well
ILLMAS replied to joelgilb's topic in General Chat
I look at 2012 as a beta, and we were are the test dummy's, after the tax season and everyone stops complaining they are going to get their act together and fix it, 2013 should have all the issues resolved. Crossing fingers. -

Try this, this worked for me, rename the client to something else, then try opening. I just renamed it back after it opened.
-
I retract what I said, my computer is still showing 3.5. Will try again.
-
Updated to 4.5, and I notice no difference at all, still takes about 60 seconds to open.

Funny but probably true...

I am familiar with Berwyn, we actually own rental property there and I always pass through Bellwood to get to Melrose Park, I am currently in the south loop. "Chicago....One of my favorite places....just not it the winter." We always complain about the Chicago winters, but come summer and these excessive heat waves, we really can't wait for winter
-
True Chicagoans still call it Marshall Field and the Willis Tower, the Sears Tower. Are you also in the Chicagoland area?
-
Hello Rob, your picutre looks like it's LaSalle St? Good someone is having luck with netsetup, I cannot get the darn thing to work.

I like the diet version, the regular one is too fattening

FYI Server 2003 doesn't play nice with recent versions of quickbooks enterprise, it acts like ATX2012 and it is very fustrating it takes a while to load data.

Catherine, have your client find out for themself, let them get the dissapointment when it doesn't qualify for the credit. I made a mistake calling the manufacture of heating system to find out the model what was installed in my client house was not energy efficient, didn't qualify for the credit, plus the model was discontinued like 2 years prior. Client wasn't happy that they didn't return the next year.

The money has to be withdrawn as a loan, there is a 60-day grace period for 401K and IRA accounts, if the taxpayer fails to pay it back in full or partially, then taxpayer would recieve a 1099R and would be subject to the 10% penalty. And what her friend told her is not true. 60 Day Loan Do you need a short term loan? The IRS allows a person to withdraw money from their 401K or IRA tax and penalty free providing that amount is repaid within 60 days. This is not the IRS being kind. This rule is designed for those who are moving their retirement accounts to another financial institution. They assume that it could take up to 60 days to get everything set up once the person receives a check from their old fund. Again, though, keep in mind that while this could be used as a loan, it won’t happen quickly. It could take months for your old retirement provider to process your request. - See more at: http://www.savingtoinvest.com/2010/09/how-to-withdraw-money-early-from-your-401k-or-ira-without-paying-a-penalty.html#sthash.rEkZ29fy.dpuf

I was told by a lawyer, that class action attorneys make a ton of money off these type of lawsuits, but whoever joins the lawsuit only get a small fraction. My cellular company sent me a 23 cent check.
