I'm about 60 miles northeast of Birmingham and I have to walk to work every day in the rain, snow or blistering sun. Its at least 50 feet from my front door to my office.4 points

It happened one time while I worked there (Caribou office). We had to start late after getting 20+" of snow over night. The roads were clear, but we couldn't get to the building without digging a tunnel. "Piled up" probably literally. Here are a few photos from Birmingham Alabama. Almost makes you feel sorry for insurance companies. Just kidding, nothing makes me feel sorry for insurance companies.3 points

I had serious issues with 2012 ATX - you have all heard them. somehow Jack and I emailed and he offered to come all the way up from Ohio to Northern WI to fine-tune my computers and the ATX program. We worked out payment - I paid for airflight - my husband hemmed and hawed and it went up $100 or so in the meantime! I had a voucher at the Holiday Inn from a benefit and the car rental was insignificant and I paid way too little for his help that day! My office manager and I learned a ton and he really cleaned up the system, etc. A great learning experience and I did not have to bring my IT in, brought in someone who knew ATX instead. If you have any issues - I highly recommend Jack. Even my husband came around as Jack's knowledge of computers as well as ATX is superb. Plus we had a great dinner and then he got to see the great Northwoods! God's Country2 points

Latest on my workaround. I am working on a method of allowing people to download the necessary file. As soon as I have it in place, I will post here. Thank you for your patience.2 points

Keep in mind they don't get snow and ice very often and do NOT have the equipment to deal with it. What would be insignificant here in the northern states is a huge deal in places where there are no highway dept piles of sand/salt mix, no trucks to spread it, no plows on stand-by...2 points

OH CRAP, Did you really have to go over the top like that? He will be impossible to live with on this board now..... Actually, this is a great story, and a testiment to the relationships that can be made. Kudos to Jack. Tom Hollister, CA2 points

Chapter two: Because Jack's flight home got cancelled due to weather; I got to spend a day and a half with him after he left WITAXLADY. I am about thirty miles away from her and close to the airport. We had planned on visiting for a few hours before he had to fly out. Instead, he was grounded. He then spent half a day in my office just talking and fine tuning. The following day, my husband and I took him on a tour of the Northern half of the state. We were both extremely impressed with Jack's knowledge, professionalism and downright great personality. We got to enjoy two meals with him before getting him back to the airport for his (again delayed) flight. However, he did have to enjoy the airport for a while, but eventually got home all right. The moral of the story is; if you have a question about ATX, ask Jack. Don't intimidate him, but trust him. I didn't have serious issues such as DE experienced, but I can recognize intelligence when I see it; and Jack has done, and will do, more for the users of ATX than you can imagine. I have been in touch with him throughout the beta testing and going forward. Jack never fails to return a PM. Thanks, Guy!!2 points

The development team is going to include a fix in the next program update. This was told to me by Kerri Gibson. In the meantime, I am working on a way to get the workaround to those that need it now.1 point

We have friends in Kennesaw which is where ATX is and it took him 4 hours to go less than a mile. Traffic was really piled up.1 point

What happened in Atlanta last night would be pretty significant even in Wisconsin. Give them a chance to deal with it.1 point

I thought it was one year also. Why not just use Form 3911 to request a replacement? In the top section it has a box specifically for refund checks not processed within 12 months of issuance. The client could try to deposit it, and the government might honor it, but if it bounces then he will be charged a returned check fee.1 point

Anyone remember "Wrist Rockets"? They were a slingshot that wrapped around your wrist to give you more power. Every squirel, bird and occasional cat (when no one was looking - sorry cat lovers) that got in my way when I was 10 got hit by that thing. Incredibly powerful. Tom Hollister, CA1 point

The support staff in Kennesaw, GA. Weather Alert- Customer Care Staffing Updated 12:05pm Tuesday Jan 28 As the snow arrives at our Kennesaw office, many employees are heading home due to icy conditions. Be aware that our support center is a bit short-staffed already today and it will continue as night falls. We may be forced to limit the incoming call volume or close the office early. If either of those events occur, we will add messaging to this blog.1 point

I'm sure Microsoft gets a lot of pressure from government and large companies that don't want to deal with the expense and the headache of upgrading all of that hardware and software.1 point

This was in no way meant to encourage anyone to try to operate ATX on an XP machine. However, there are millions of XP computers out there that are perfectly useful for many things and this only means that the operators will still have a measure of security when they go online. (I think!)1 point
