  1. I have been doing that ever since I had a scenario where it was the other way around.... A little more work tracking the e-files, but much less than fixing the mess the other way....
  2. Marilyn's charms are just too much to resist.....
  3. ...schizophrenic and I am too!!
  4. BIG CASH RETAINER!! Just say yes I can, but not by the 15th. Extension for 2013, and you will lose any refund for 2010. If they balk, give them the phone number for HRB.
  5. Even if it was discharged through bankruptcy, you must report the property as sold with the sale price being the amount of debt discharged. Calculate basis in the normal fashion. There may be a taxable capital gain on the transaction. The 1099-C for cancellation of the debt may come later and is a totally separate event and is handled differently. 1099-A is NOT cancellation of debt, but transfer of ownership. Do not confuse it with discharge of debt. Also, the FMV shown on the 1099-A has no value in the calculations of gain or loss on the sale of the property.
  6. It's 2014. http://www.staples.com/Brother-HL-2270DW-Mono-Laser-Printer/product_887222 $99.99 I can show you how to refill the carts for $10 each and get the same number of pages as original.
  7. I figure that the people on this board are smarter than the average person (well most anyway), so why go to an extended explanation for someone who gets it?
  8. I purposely give "very vague" answers leaning toward just barely correct...
  9. I change nothing.
  10. I do nothing.
  11. Use Ctrl - alt - del and close the program. Open it back up and the return will be there and you can open it with no issues. It is a quirk for returns rolled over that were marked complete in 2012. This started after 13.5 and 13.5.1 was supposed to fix it. (insert sarcasm font)
  12. Do you double side the return? Love my auto duplex printer.
  13. After you push the print screen button, open up Microsoft paint. Then push ctrl-V. the picture will show up in paint. Then choose save as and save it as a .jpg file giving it a name and location. Then you can attach it to a post like any other picture. Microsoft paint is under accessories in the all program menu when you click start. It is a standard part of the windows operating system.
  14. The TRUE FACT IS - It does NOT MATTER!!!
  15. Since the 1099-C does not have her SS# on it, do NOTHING. Let the IRS collect it from him if they choose. She is not liable.
  16. Not for a rental. Expense, just like the mortgage interest.
  17. I recommend doing the amendment. The idea is, that the latest return filed before the deadline is the one the IRS will accept. I forsee lots of notices if you try that process.
  18. Agree with both of the above. We have done several that way.
  19. Original Equipment Manufactured
  20. How about dribble a football?
  21. Send me the money, give me a 1099 and I will smile all the way to the bank. Some people are so Da_ned selfish!!
